Weight loss has stopped

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 1/12/11. I have lost 20lbs, but have not lost anything for the last 2 weeks, but haven't gained either. I go for my first fill tomorrow. Is this normal? At first I could only eat small amounts of food, but lately I feel like I can eat a lot more! Just worried that this isn't working. Any advice would be appreciated!

Everything you described is perfectly normal...

Get your fill but dont be surprised if you dont feel anything right off it can take numerous fills to reach proper restriction.

Until then monitor what your eating, drink your Water and exercise...

Good Luck

As previous poster mentioned it could take a while to get restriction. Not trying to be a downer just expressing my own experience. On the upside I usually lose a couple pounds post fill! I highly recommend buying a electronic food scale that allows you to zero out the plate. I use mine for lunch and dinner everyday. My doctor calls for 3 oz of solid Protein. It's very hard to eyeball 3oz. You could very well be getting twice as much meat if you are'nt measuring. I measure out the meat and that's it no seconds.

i was banded 1.5 years ago, it took months b4 my doc had the band filled enough to really restrict my eating. Some advice: make sure u take ur Vitamins and Protein. I got lazy on the Protein and Vitamins and now my regular doc said i have some protein in my urine and i'm anemic. The doc is thinking i'm having these issues due to not eating enough, not taking the vitamins, and not drinking the protein. it is very important to take the vitamins! Even tho I do not eat a lot the weight loss is very slow. I have lost 50 pounds but took 1.5 years, but losing slow is okay and healthy. The lap band is not a miracle solution to weight loss but it is a great aid. Be patient, eat healthy but watch ur portions, take vitamins and protein. Like you, i lost like 24 pounds quickly, then it stopped for a long while. But remember.....if u are not gaining and losing (even it is a slow process) u are working towards being much healthier!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
