What's up with the rudeness on this board? I don't get it......

Face it everyone, we're all the same here. You either are, or were...FAT! FAT! FAT! FAT! You may have lost weight, but you used to be FAT!!! So you see, we're all the same here, nobody's better than the other, we're just in different stages of the journey. We should be supporting each other to better ourselves and learn about the lapband. There are a lot of cool people on this board! But if you're one of those sour apples, you should get your crayons and go to the corner and color......

I'll admit to being one of the rude ones :-(

In my defense, there is a reaction to every action and I'm a person that doesn't like to be picked on if I happen to be in the minority. I also will speak up for those who don't have a voice.

But really I'm a nice nice person! :-D

When i first joined this group it wasnt like this it saddens me that there are a few rotten apples in the bunch that spoil it for the rest of us who are just trying to better ourselves...

Sometimes it's not that people are being rude...it's that some people are 'perceiving' them to be. I take the time to be courteous, but have still been accused of being rude by 'certain' people.

Glad someone brought this up!

A lot of people put their own tone, or a tone they perceive, into someone's response. People may do this because they are anticipating being attacked, are just having an off day, or they are just a** hats. Just remember, before you (no one in general) hastily reply with a snarky reponse, tone and sarcasm on the net are not easily heard.

Also, I have seen a lot of closed minded comments on here lately. A few people seem to think the surgeon gave them a medical degree instead of a band and that their way is the yellow brick road.

Mostly, though, everyone is pleasant, helpful, and sometimes humorous. :)

What? Did I refer to a thread? <wide eyed, innocent look> ;)

We treat every action, deliberate, or accidental, conscious or subconscious, as a personal slight — a sign the other doesn't care about us. Perception is reality. Alter your perception and you alter your reality.

I don't think it's been too bad really. Of course there are a few posts with people getting on each other's nerves, but there was much more rudeness here in 2009.

I think we should all join hands and sing "Kumbaya"....I have found most people to be helpful and kind. Sometimes people ask questions and don't like the answers they get. It is all a crap-shoot as to who answers you and how you choose to react is up to the individual. Sometimes we need a kick in the pants to get it together or to leave the pity-party. Sometimes we just want to whine, and that is OK too.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
