That's awesome! It took me forever to make it from 23 lbs. lost to my first goal of 25, but it was Christmas time and I was eating Cookies in addition to good stuff.

Keep it up!

That's awesome! My starting stats are similar to yours! Can you share your experience - how you approached things? I am on day 4 post op right now. Feel great - no hunger. I am justing having Water, Protein shakes and bouillon - at least for the next 6 days!

How do you feel? it must be terrific!

Why do I have no idea what ccs are in my band :). Did the Dr. tell you that before surgery?

Congratulations! That is very inspiring! I am down ~50 or so but it has been a SLOW process! I was banded in May and since the holidays, I have been up and down the same 3 pounds and it is FRUSTRATING!!!!

Keep up the good work!!!

:) Katie

Thanks guys!!

Honestly things have been quite crazy for me so I may not be the best example of a good diet. I was banded in August then the first part of September I had a hysterectomy so I went quite a while with no exercise at all. I just made sure to watch my portion sizes and my snacking.

Then in October my grandfather unexpectedly passed away so my diet got off track.

Now though the biggest thing is I make sure I'm getting my Protein in and I jog 3 times a week.

Thats the way to do it! I had 5lb goals. Every 5lbs was a victory for me and it also motivated me to continue my path. Keep up the great work Amanda!

I think it's very wise to make small easily attainable goals and to reward ourselves with non food things when we get there.

I found a site called Stickk (www.stickk.com) where you make a wager with yourself (can be monetary or not as you please) to attain a goal. I've set mine at losing 1lb a week. Every thursday the site emails me a reminder to weigh in.

I also use FatSecret (hate the name.. great site) www.fatsecret.com and set my goal there very low too.

Rewards are things like mani/pedi, new blouse or jeans, a book I've been wanting, nice yarn (I'm a crochet addict), etc.

Congrats on the 10lbs.. now go buy yourself a manicure!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
