need help from july 2010 bandsters

Recommended Posts

I was banded July 14th..I lost 20 pounds by the end of July. 23 more pounds by the end of September. I have not lost since then. Im up a pound down a pound for 3 and a half months. Every month I go to my support meeting and they tell me this is a three part journey. One part lapband, one part diet and one part exercise. My band is working I can not over eat anymore or go for seconds or really even eat a whole plate of food. My problem is my diet and exercise. The same problems I had before being banded. I dont take the time to plan my meals ( I dont know what to plan) and I dont take time to exercise. Somebody tell me what to do..LOL..The doctor and the nutritionist help you til you get through the first stages then they kinda drop you. I think I need a band partner. By the way, I was a member of curves a few years ago and loved it. Im gonna go Monday morning and rejoin.

I was banded on July 8th and am having some of the same issues as you. I know I need to watch what I eat and exercise more, but I have two small kiddos, and it is often hard to do wither of those things. I did start the 30 day shred on Monday and have been faithful every night, so I am hoping that helps. I would really like to hit my goal of losing 100 pounds by my first anniversary, but I am going to have to work harder than I have been. I go to the dr on Monday and I am going to see if she will tighten me up a little bit more. Good luck, and maybe we can keep each other honest about what we are eating and the working out we are doing. Message me anytime!!

Hey, I was banded July 31st I was the same way as you september-november...I just went up and down 3-4lbs...than I got my 3rd fill at the very end of november and had good retriction for 2 weeks and dropped 8lbs but now Im back to losing and gaining 2lbs..havnt lost any since the second week of december. I lost alot of weight the first month which gave me a nice boost but its alot slower than I thought. I am even going to the gym 3x a week and trying to watch what I eat. I think exercise is the key to be honest...especially when you dont have alot of restriction...I have my next fill in 2 days and I am hoping that helps me lose some more weight again...I think you already know your answer about what you need to do...but if you need someone to talk to ...just message me and we can exchange email or whatever works for you. I could always use someone to talk to when times get rough and someone to share the good stuff too! Hang in there and try to keep postive and change some of your ways by adding exericse in!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
