13 months since banded, time flies. I am now down 70lbs. 15-20 more till goal. I had a TT on the 10th and recovering from that. I have always carried weight in my belly area and never had elastic skin after pregnancies. It has been a tough recovery but the results are well worth it.

It is great to see how everyone is doing and I feel bad hearing some of your stories who have had hernias, band slippage etc. the Lap band surgery and TT surgery have been tough enough I can't

imagine going through more.

I have been so bad since November in checking in with any support groups. The good news is, I guess, I didn't gain anything. But like others, I haved been hovering around the same 5 pounds for 3 months. Grr...I have had a hard time getting back into the exercise routine. Before December, I faithfully went every day during my lunch at work. Now, I am averaging once a week. I am sure that is not helping my case!

I am pretty tight - almost banded at the max. Things for sure do not stay down most of the time, unless it is a slider food. I am so torn between getting an unfill, so I can eat my Protein (chicken was my go-to before) and staying tight so I can try to lose.

I am going to Vegas next week. That should interesting since I can't eat anything until evening for the most part...and then lucky if I keep it down. I guess that leaves more time and money for shows and slots :-)

I am down abut 70 lbs, and keep flirting with 199, but then go up 2 or 3 lbs. So ready to get that goal!

Newlifekp...you will likely find that a small unfill will do wonders for you. You need to eat your lean Proteins and veggies as your main food. If you can't chew and swallow those, you are too tight. I know the thought of a slight unfill is scary...trust me, being too tight comes with it's own set of problems like weight gain due to eating slider foos as well as the band slipping. I've had my band slip and had revision surgery for it...please go see your surgeo

I'm coming back in to the thread with my tail tucked between my legs. As of today (14 months post op) I'm down 51lbs. I've been at the same weight, back and forthing the same 5 lbs since summer time.

I went in for a fill yesterday because I still don't feel like I've reached my sweet spot. I can have a 6" sub no problem, that's not right, right? I still have straight up hunger pains, not head hunger...it's so odd. Anywho, went in for the fill yesterday and I'm now at 8.2 in a 9 standard band!!!!!!!!!!! I was shocked. I'm hoping/praying this does the trick. I have a girlfriend who was banded a month after me and she's kicking ass. She can't do bread or anything either. It's so weird how the band is so fickle with everyone else.

So, sorry for the ramble, but I needed to check in and kind of kick start myself.

Thought I would dust off this thread and see how everyone is doing... I have been a little scarce on this site but still losing and counting the days to goal. Hope everyone is doing well and we can serve as a good example for some of the newbies....

wow... it's been tooooooo long since I've on this website. Maybe the reason for my stall.....Well... here's my status...I'm down 60 pounds... 40 more til MY goal and 30 more for my doctor's goal. This past Thanksgiving, I learned I had vulvar cancer..... Can't figure how I got that... sooooooo rare and very weird. I had surgery on Dec. 6th and found myself very distracted from keeping track of my food choices.... needless to say I really did enjoy the holidays... Cookies and all. I can't believe that I only gained 4 pounds.... My cancer is GONE YEAH!!! ... So I need to re-focus on getting to my goal. I went to the Doc. this past Saturday and got a fill. This is pretty tight... but I think I really needed it to get me back on track.... I lost 3 pounds so far this week.... My doc believes in liquids for at least a week after a fill. I'm not challenging him on that.. since I'm really trying to get focused again. I'm challenging myself to reach my goal by August. I want soooo much to be able to go sleeveless.... I still hate my upper arms. Anyone have any great exercise ideas for that?? :-)

Hey ladies!!

Well, since my last post in February, I have lost 17lbs!! That last fill has done the trick for me and I'm over my plateau. That's seriously the most I've lost all in one go since getting my band.

Carol ann, congrats on being cancer free!!! (my mom's name is carol ann  )

Been about a year since I had my intensely scary issue with my overfill. I haven't even been back to my surgeon since. I feel as if I can eat as much as I want to if I just chew slowly and thoroughly. This is not good. The only thing the band is helping me right now is to be slow and chew a ton. Other than that, it isn't offering me much anymore. Not sure if I just need a fill or not, but after my last emergency my surgeon said this should be the point. This thread has kind of died, though, I'm interested to see how many people are still good? I'm still down about 65lbs, but up about 20 from my lowest point.

I was actually looking for this thread a while ago and couldn't find.

You must remember that even though you can eat more, you need to stop @ 1 cup and let the band do the work. If you can still eat 1 cup of food and still be satisfied for 4 hours or so, then the band is working as it should. It doesn't restrict your intake, just makes you feel satisfied on less for longer.

What size band and how much fill do you have?

Have you maintained or lost over the last year?

I just had a fill last Tuesday. I was at the point that I could eat anything if I chewed it long enough and I coulld eat as much as I wanted. I gained back about 10 pounds so I went in. I think I have had 4 fills. I have 9cc in a 14cc (I think) band. I am feeling very tight right now but my body seems to take about 2 weeks after a fill to settle down. I am eating mushies and Protein Shakes, Soups and I am down about 6 pounds already. Over all it still has been a great experience.

I have not been around much but I am glad the support is here!!

Hi All December 2010 Bandsters. It's been forever since I've been on this board. I was happy to see some of you are still out there. I seemed to have also stalled in my weight loss. I was definitely too tight from Sept - Dec.... plus I was eating all the wrong foods... (I should know better) About 6 weeks I got an un-fill and quickly gained 6 pounds in one month. Scared the crap out of me. My eating habits were so bad that I forgot how to eat healthy. 2 weeks ago I got a tiny fill and have since lost the 6 pounds I gained. I'm thinking I'm still a tad bit too tight...but I'm using this time to really get back on the program. I only have 20 pounds to go to hit my Dr.'s goal (30lbs to hit my goal). I also have to get back to my exercise and walking routine. I'm going to check back here more often to keep me on track!

Hello Dec 2010 Bansters!! Just checking in. I am lurk on this board way more then I post so thank you all for airing your dirty laundry! It helps the Lurkers!!

I have hit my first goal weight of 199lbs and now (as of this morning) I am 177lbs - Not far from my goal of 160lbs. When I started this my highest was 280 - I think when I finally made it to the WS Doctor I was 260ish. I am feeling great with the extra weight gone. There has been some struggles over time but over all I am still glad I made this choice. And now I have made another big choice, I am starting to have some extra skin removed. July 26th I go to have my breast lifed and my arms lifted. I am so excited & nervous. Feels like open a new chapter (again)

Anyone else from our group having plastic surgery?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
