1/3/06 - 189

NSV-I noticed last night that Jazzercise is getting much easier. I am able to do the high impact most of the time, instead of having to do low impact most of the time.

Weigh-in, 1/3/06: 220

Debby, can you clarify the end date? I'm a little confused about whether the challenge ends on 3/1 or 3/31... My goal either way is to make it to Onderland by the end of the challenge. It's ambitious, but I think I can do it if I work out. My workout goal is 3-4 days a week, 45 minutes at a time.

NSV for this past week: I finally worked out yesterday! I was able to do much more than I expected (40 minutes on the treadmill, 8 minutes on the elliptical). I usually just shoot for 30 minutes, but I was feeling so good I couldn't stop. :P

OMG, I just had a fab idea. Remember Nana's Christmas weight loss challenge where she offered a cloak to the winner? Well, what if we all send the LOSER a prize? Whoever loses most by March (the cutoff date) gets a prize from each person who joined? That's like a hundred presents! We could keep gifts from $5 - $10, just something simple. How fun would that be? And it might motivate me because I love 100 presents!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
