I had to pay $9,900 the first time Doctor laker did my surgery, then when he punctured the tubing I had to pay $11,387.27 for the second surgery for a new port!

My insurance said they will not pay for any bariatric procedures, so my out of pocket will be $9,999. The office told me the usual price is $10,000-$12,000 but I got the professional discount due to the fact I'm a Nurse who works in surgery.

My co-pay was 3k, plus deductibles on the gazillion tests. My daughter had to self-pay, but opted not to have it done in NYC, which was like 24k. She went to Houston where it was 12k.

My daughter had hers done in Houston by Dr. Spivak, truly one of the pioneers in bringing lap-band to the US. No pre or post op diet except for a day before and 3-4 days of soft foods after. His cost was 12k. But I seem to remember seeing out west in like Utah or Colorado it being done at about the same cost of Mexico, like around 6k. If you have to go to a fill center to get follow-up I think it's between 1-200 bucks but you really only have about 3-4 fills, depending on how aggressive they are.

I paid $14,000, which covered everything pre and post (i.e., fills), but I just sent an appeal to my insurance company, so hopefully I'll get some of that back. FIngers crossed.

I'm in UK and have paid £5,000 which sounds hell of a lot cheaper than where you are. I get six months surgical cover and 2 years cover with unlimited fills.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
