making ahead of time

Hi folks!

I was thinking about playing around tonight with making some protien shakes in my blender with all the samples I have. Well what I was wondering was if I find one that I like and want to make several, how long will they keep in the fridge before going bad? And does the Protein lose any of it's effectiveness? I like the idea of having them already done and ready for me to just grap and go. I have tried some of the pre made ones, but I can't stomach some of those! Any ideas and hints would be great! Sorry if this is a repeat of another post. I tried to search before I posted but didn't find anything. :(

I freeze it. Not sure if it looses anything. It tasted the same. It was like eating an icee, I had to use a spoon.

It probably depends if you are mixing the Protein with milk. I used to survey health care facilities and one of the things we watched for was if staff mixed protein supplements with milk and stored them in the refrigerator for more than just a few hours (less than 24 hours). There may be a chance of food borne illness if made in advance but we were surveying nursing homes and the population there can be compromised. I suggest asking your dietitian.

When I was on Protein Shakes only, I made enough for 24 hours. Protein Max chocolate was wonderful. I get it at GNC. They also have an awesome shaker cup that has a mini whisk in it. This helps with mixing and also you do not have to mess the blender up...lol If you get one of the shaker cups, add 1/2 of your skim milk first and then your powder...It seems to mix easier.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
