Sooo confused about my last fill!! HELP!

Recommended Posts

I got my second fill 2 weeks ago. He added 1cc (which put me at a total of 3cc) I had it done on a Thursday and i couldnt even keep Water down the whole weekend and felt awful.... That monday I went in and had a slight unfill (.5cc) But now I feel like i eat WAY to much... even before i had the last fill! I know its crazy bc it was only 2 weeks ago! I want to call them back but part of me feels embarrassed going "hey can you fill my band back up what you took out" and i am not sure if they would... has anyone else had a problem like this????

This so happened to me too! I had a fill, then an "unfill" two weeks later, and then a fill again two weeks after that. Told them I felt like a flake BUT the doc was really cool and said it's all about telling them what you are feeling, it IS your body after all!

See if they will go up more gradually in your fills. It sounds like a lot of docs on here fill at 0.5cc or more at a time, which can be a LOT if you are anywhere close to restriction. For me, 0.25 or even just 0.1cc has made a lot of difference in my restriction without being too drastic, and I've never been too tight or had an unfill yet.

I have experienced the same thing. Being very hungry, getting a slight fill (once it was only .1 cc). The fills put me over the edge and was sick. Doc. ended up taking more out than he put in. However, for some reason I had restriction after that.

I would go in and talk to your doc. He could put less than .5 in and see how you do. Good luck!

I had that happen too after a slight unfill, but I didn't ask my doctor about refilling me and I don't think they would've as he has a policy of only filling every 4 weeks.

I got through it by pushing Water between meals (after waiting my 30 to 60 minutes after eating). It wasn't the easiest thing in the world.. but I got through it and did NOT gain. I even lost a bit, but less than a lb a week during this time.

When I went back in 2 months after the unfill, they still didn't want to fill me back to where I was and by that time the extra hunger from the unfill had settled down. I went from May till September before I got the unfill replaced.

And this was all over a tiny .2cc ROFL!!

I'm not saying you shouldn't ask if you could have a tiny bit replaced.. I'm just sharing what I did in case your doc doesn't agree and makes you wait. It's a little bit of a struggle, but if I can do it, most anyone can. :smile2:

Hope all goes well for you.

Hello I have been banded now for almost 1 year and a half now and I know exactly how you feel. I have had this happen to me more than once. It happened last month where before the fill I could eat a lot more and was getting really hungry between meals. So I went in for a little bit of a fill and within a week I went back in to have it taking out. I am now back where I was before the fill but still losing even though I feel as if I'm eating more. So I'm going to stay where I am for a while longer. Good luck and hang in there :smile2:

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
