8 days post op and still feel so bloated

I am 8 days post op and returned to my job day. I work in an office , but I am up and down a good bit. By the end of the day, I felt so terrible. My back was killing me, my stomach felt so incredibly tight & bloated and I was so weak. I drank a protein shake when I got home and then tried to walk for a while (thinking this would help with the gas pain and bloating) but I was only able to walk about 1/2 mile. How much should I be walking by now? Am I overdoing it or am I not pushing myself enough?

at 8 days, i think you should stop as soon as you start feeling really tired....just don't overdo it. if you feel that half a mile is fine, then continue with that distance until you feel you can go a bit further. as for the bloating, i think you will be like this for a whole month....so just be patient....you'll start seeing the difference.....goodluck!!!:sneaky:

Thanks for the advice, Laura. I am determined to keep moving and I think I would be able to walk alot more if my belly didn't feel like it was about to pop. Good to know this will pass soon.
