APPROVED FOR SURGERY! Date is set for Dec 17th... definitely an early Christmas present. However, I am so SO soooo nervous! I probably would have had this surgery 2 years ago had it not been for my nerves. My advise to others: I was annoyed when I found out I had to do a 6 month 'supervised diet' once I decided I was ready to get the band, but it REALLY DOES go by so fast. Take the time to learn as MUCH as you can before surgery.

Good luck to all of the December bandsters!

Hi all,

I am chugging along through my preop diet, hungry but OK except this AM, I was really tired and headachy. I had one piece of WW toast and felt better right away.

I agree with those who are nervous about the upcoming surgery.

Nice to see more December bandsters!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I finally have my surgery date! December 15th. It took almost 3 weeks to get the insurance approval. (felt like 3 months!) I am obsessed with reading as many of these posts that I can between now and surgery day... and of course afterward too! Great information on these forums.

I gave up my soda like a month ago, so on thanksgiving I decided to bend one last time before I have surgery and drink some soda and a surprise to me it did not taste that good. Now if it was a fountain soda it may have been better, but I am happy that after a month without it I seem to have lost my taste for it.

I am so anxious, my surgery day is Dec.3. I wish the best of luck to all of you going before me and after me. I feel lucky because my insurance or my Dr. did not put me on any diet just practice on my new eating habits. The only thing that is making me soooooo nervous is being able to wake up after surgery. Oh and it is so cold in Northern California I'm afraid to come down with a cold, so I have stocked up on Vitamin C.< /p>

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
