  1. Wow Sal, 19 lbs. That's awesome. I don't have the surgery so I am onlyspeaking from the perception of others profiles that I've read. I think each person is different. 1. men lose faster and more efficiently then woman. 2. You are on liquids for the most part, and that certainlyhelps. 3. You were already a huge water drinkers, that's certainly an added bonus 4. Your metabolism is picking up and trying to adjust to your body going into starvation mode. so even though you are technially getting the nurtients, its still a change from what you normally ate. All that to say, I think it is normal and you will see fluctuation as your body adjust. Congrats and keep up the good work. I've had a major set back. My doc, doens't except in -network benefits, and my insurance only does innetwork. The office didn't even want to give me a referral for anothyer doc, even though, it was there oversight when I originally gave them my card. So now I don't know when I am going to be banded, and I found out I am pregnant, yesterday so that certainly didn't help...
  2. Congrats........................I am so happy for u.
  3. Hope all went well. Let us know how your doing.
  4. I am concerned...I did not get my cycle for November and I am to freaked out to have a pregancy test.....I wanted to get my tubes tide but I was going to wait until after I had the lapband.........
  5. You and your family are in my thoughts. You will be ok and even though you'll be in post op section, you have to come back and let us know how everything went with you. Good Luck...
  6. Just enjoy the rest of your daysss.....and since you don't have to do the preop....you can enjoy your food.
  7. I was looking at the Ninja and then I saw Montell's Health Master. http://www.myhealthmaster.com/ I was watching the infomerical and I am sold. It's expensive but my poor little blender has had it. I am ok in the kitchen. nothing to brag about, the basics and I have 3 boys so it's going to be tough.
  8. hmm...my mother in law does not make hers with tomatoes, I guess that might add some irritation to you stomach. She turkey stock by College Park and sometimes, she make a cream based turkey Soup and a broth base. Since I know that I have to give up the cream, I am trying to do the right thing now and stick with the broth's. Turkey salad....with mayo or without mayo? I am in to trying anything as IDK, if I can do the pre-op without having a little flavor, those Protein shakes are horrid for the most part. If anyone else has tried liquid alternatives made from broth based Soups, please post.
  9. I know I kinda miss the email notifications as well. We are doing great thanks for asking. You know I asked my mother in law to make her famous turkey soup, so that I can filter the solids and have only the broth. I think that would be and awesome flavorfilled liquid alternative.
  10. I guess different Doc's have different requirements and that's not the first time, I've heard of some surgeons not requiring the Pre-op. The only thing that's good about it is I guess it's preparation for what you'll really be doing after the surgery which is controlled eating anyway. I've lost about 9lbs in the last 2 weeks just by increasing my Water. I hate water..with a passion, but I'd gained a couple of pounds during my six month and the nutritionist said, that I probably would want to lose about 10 so I don't get denied. I drink about 1.5 liters a day, which is a lil over 60 oz.....it keeps me in the bathroom but I do notice that I am not as hungry.... I am hoping that I get a late Dec date because I'm on vacation from work..and since I am not telling anyone, it'll be the perfec topportunity to not have people think I did something outside of watching what I eat. I need to lose at least 140 or 150.... How about you?
  11. That's so surprising, the pre-op is suppose to shrink your liver so that's its easier to operate. My doc is making me do that as well but I don't have a surgery date yet. My last appointment is Dec. 6, then we can submit to insurance. Funny though, my PCP will not sign off for lapband......Still trying to figure out, since she has my history...
  12. I highly recommend Rite Size Smoothie.....It takes a like a milkshake......I add 1 tbs of whey protein just for the extra protein because Rite Size only has 9 grams. It taste delic.....no after taste, no chalky flavor.. 5 icecubes or crushed ice. 1 tbsp of Rite Size 1 tbsp of whey protein. soy milk or skim..... the direction say you can use juice but I prefer the milk.
  13. My PCP was one that would not sign on on lapband as she thinks I should go with the gastric. I am not sold on it so I am continusing my Quest for the lapband. Mainly because the gastric is a much more invasive procedure and I do not want to be cut open. Thanks for sharing.

  15. I ordered Rite Size smoothies, and they are delicious. Taste just like a milkshake. It has appemine which is suppose to be an appetite suppressant. So far so good. The Spendaberry flavor I like and I add a scoop of the protein powder because the smoothie only has 9 grams of protein. I mix with about 5 ice cubes or 1/2 cup of crushed ice. Fantastic.....
