Carbonation!!!!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

My doc says no carbonation, but I still have some. I don't have issues with it, but I'm also not as filled as most people. I had lost my weight before I was done getting filled.

As for the straws, there's no way I can NOT use a straw in public. I will NOT put my lips on a glass that many other people have drank out of it. It's bad enough I'm even drinking from it.

LOL Spoiltmom! Next time you have a dream like that, can you get me a rootbeer!?!

My doctor says I can't have pop and honestly, I'm too afraid to try it. haven't had pop since the beginning of May. I don't miss it as much as I thought!

LOL Shay 7997 about the drinking from a straw in public. I totally feel ya! I had a food addiction and along with that I had a soda one too. I went from drink tons of coke to now a small amount of coke zero. That was a huge change for me. I am just taking everything with this lapband one day at a time. My doctor never told me to not to have carbonation but the nut did say I shouldn't drink from a straw but I do every day with my Protein Shake. That is the only way I can drink it. So I choose my battle. I drink thru a straw and I do have more gas but it's the gas or Protein. I choose the protein. As far as being in any pain when drinking from a straw or having soda it's never happened to me. But like to others have said everyone is different. Just like with food now you just have to try it to see if it works for you.

I have never been told no except once and that was right after surgery for about three months; not that it can stretch the pouch but they were researcing possible band erosion due to the carbonation. My dr states this is only critical the first few months after. He gave me the okay to drink a diet pop but let it sit out for a bit to die it down some. But although he doesn't recommend it it had nothing to do with the band it was because diet soda had artificial sweetners in it which have been linked in increasing the appetite. He advised one or two a week. It has been 8 months since I have let a soda pass through and although I have dreams about one...what's the point now having gone so long. I have had a beer once or twice since surgery and perhaps might have my fizzy one day when I decide to let matter win over my mind. To me right now its a game, a challenge and I am winning.

I am so craving a Coke Zero right now!!! but am too scared to try one... I know once I give in that will be my undoing and will be an addict again so I'm just gonna keep chugging my Crystal lite and water!

My Doc said nothing about artificial sweeteners shoot they gave me splenda with my first meal...Just not soda cuz it can cause gas and expand the pouch.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
