Hello. My name is Karen. I was just banded on Friday, Aug 20. My surgeon is Dr. John Brebbia in Dover, DE. I have been overweight most of my life, except for a 2 year stint before I got married. (Phen fen) Anyways, I have been researching this band for a long time and finally went through with it. I was told I had a small hiatal hernia that he repaired while he was placing the band. I am feeling good today. I still have alot of pain in my shoulders and neck but i hear thats from the hernia repair. I can start full liquids today....so i made a protein smoothie this morning. Its amazing that I have no hunger at all. I ate about 1/2 of a sugar free jello yesterday and was full - wierd to me as before i could easily put away a medium pizza all by myself. Has anyone else been banded recently?

Hi Karen, I'm just south of Dover, but my surgery was in Christiana. My surg date was December 6th, 2010, this past Monday. I also had a hernia repair, I'm not so much starving as BORED! Having a hard time getting down all the liquids I need to, and I think the Protein shakes are awful!
