Any advice for me? Op on the 24th Aug in the UK

Hi, My name is Jane, and I live in England.

I think that this site is very good, and there is more to it than the ones in the UK.

I am having my band on the 24th August 2010, and would welcome any advice, or support.

It would also be good to make some buddies from overseas who are in the same position as me, to share the experience with.

Thanks,

Jane

Welcome Jane!

I hope your surgery went well and you are now at home enjoying (?) your liquid diet. You've probably even lost a pound or two!

Best of luck to you!

Hi Annie,

My op went well, and I am now at home after spending the night in hospital.

I am sore and tired, but otherwise okay.

Thankyou.

Jane

Thankyou very much.

Jane :(

Hi. Not sure what UK doctors have you eat after surgery but here are some thoughts. I found buying Chicken Stock was much better than Chicken Broth. Gave a lot more flavor. Also when you can move to full liquids I really enjoy Greek Yogurt which is higher in protein than the regular stuff we get here in the US (mine has 17 grams protein for 6 ounces). I take it out of it's original container and put it in a bowl and add several tablespoons vanilla Whey Protein Powder, unflavored fiber powder, Splenda (fake sweetener sold in the US), and a tablespoon fat free milk. I use a "stick blender and mix everything together and mince up the fruit from the yogurt. Tastes fabulous!
