I have been approved for Sept 24th...I'm SOOOOOOOOOOO excited
Hi Septemerber bandsters! I just got the call today, my sugery date is scheduled for September 24, 2010. It seems unreal, I haven't told anyone yet (except my boss, so I could get the week off) but not the people that matter. I think I'm trying to comprehend that this is really happening, that I'm really about to start a brand new journey!

Ctrose, and Kmckinleyrn Congratulations On your surgery dates, you guys are the first to have September 24,

Cathy,I know you're at the hospital getting prepared for surgery at this time. This is your big day. You are the first from our group to be Banded.:thumbup:, I'm so happy and excited for you, I wish you a speedy recovery. Please keep us post-it on your progress.

Got my surgery date - Sept 27. Will meet with my surgeon two weeks before for instructions. I already know that he requires Protein Drinks only for two weeks before surgery. I am using Premier Protein shakes (30g Protein; 160 calories; 3g fat). I get them from costco and the taste is very good.

September 17 - I know my insurance won't pay so I'm not even going to go through that stress. It may be a bunch of money but I figure I'll get that money back in a couple of years without all the restaurant and grocery bills! Though I will probably more clothing expenses!

It's time. I need to do this for me.

My doctor is not requiring me to go on the liquid diet, but I was encouraged to go on one if I want to. I'm thinking it's probably a good idea.

Does anyone have any good recommendations on decent tasting Protein Shakes?

September bandsters - Good luck to all of you. I have my date Sept 20. I can't believe it really going to happen. Now if I can just avoid the Last Supper Syndrome I should be ok.

Hi everyone Tomorrow is day number 1 of the pre-op for me. I'm ready and willing to start! Insurance is all set . My bag is packed and I am stocking up on the foods I will need for the next three weeks. I'm hoping to stay away from the super market. I told my family every man for himself in the kitchen. I no longer am the chief cook and bottle washer. I am glad I have no little kids to cook for!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
