Hi everyone!

My name is Robyn and im 21. I have been in the process of doing my pre-op appointments and classes so that I can get my insurance aproval. My date is set for Wednesday july 21, and I am VERY nervous. I am also excited too. I start my liver shrinking diet tomorrow and I m excited to see if I lose any weight from it.

Good luck to everyone else who is about to be banded!

Best of luck to you! I'm always excited when I see young people taking this step. I wish it had been an option when I was your age. My life would have been so different if I'd been able to lose the weight at your age.

Again, good luck to you! What are you doing for your pre-op diet?

im the same person just on another username...

My pre op diet is a protien drink for Breakfast, a protien drink for lunch wiht a small piece of fruit, 2 oz cheese or half cup yogurt for a sack, then a small piece of meat and a cup of vegetables and a piece of fat free whole wheat bread. then half an apple or 10 baby carrots for snack later

I hope I do well...Right now Im having a hard time finding protien shakes that I can drink. I have nectar in the crystal blue, which is ok, adn then i added a packet of sugar free crystal light lemonade to it and that made it sweeter. What protien drinks did you drink? do you have any advice for getting through the next 2 weeks?

I am set for my surgery on July 13. I only have to do a liquid diet starting the day before my surgery! I am very nervous - am actually having a little bit of anxiety.

hi, this is my first post here

I expect to have a date soon set for August. I have been nothing but nervous bordering on anxiety for the last couple days...

I suspect that is the norm, all the questions

"what if it doesn't work for me"

"maybe I should do Bypass"

"should I give non-surgical options another shot"

maybe that's just me....

but I suspect nervous is the norm in some form, we are all here for a singular reason and i would be very suspect of someone who was not especially nervous at some point.

Good Luck!

I'm hoping for a late August surgery date, too and all the same thoughts are going through my head! It helps to read the forums here and hear about other people's progress and that they went through the same thought processes that I'm going through.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
