Did I miss a stroganoff recipe??

Our weekend went by so quick, driving to & from TN yesterday was a nightmare, Carson screamed the entire time.. and we got a late start back (I wanted to be home before his bedtime) and he fell asleep the last 10m of the trip.. doh. So we had to wake him up when we got home and it messed him all up.

I didn't eat from 8am-7pm yesterday, I thought I was going to die, quite literally.

When we got to his parents, I figured I'd get something to eat, and they had nothing.. so then for the baby shower which was in another city, I figured driving from A to B there would be somewhere I could ask his mom to stop.. but it was all county and farms... so then we got to their house and I scrounged and they had nothing to eat. All they served at the shower was peanuts and pretzels, neither of which are a friend of mine--I did eat some, but it didn't do it for me. I had a piece of the shower cake.. then we stayed forever, and then it's more country roads, then had to stay at his parents to visit.. we didn't get back into civilzation till 7pm, and all day all I could think about was food and how hungry I was!!

Laura, that's not good for you not to eat all day (duh, like you don't know that!). Maybe you should pack Snacks for yourself just so you have them if you need them... like if you got stuck in traffic or something like that. That makes me nervous for baby Izzy!

Laura!!! Please don't let that happen again!!! Always take some Snacks with you.

Had a good therapy session and then came home and had a few spoonfuls of Moo Shoo veggies. Hot dog and veggie straws for supper, but I'm not really hungry.

I have some exercises to do at home before I go to outpatient therapy again Thursday and Friday. Therapist said I should be done with the walker and only using a cane within 2 weeks. She was impressed at how well I was doing. I just want to get back in my pool!!!

Off to read a little and then have some supper.

Everyone have a great evening!!

cpm is a continuous passive motion machine that you put your leg on, that moves it ever so slightly, but continuously, they use it in St. Louis for a lot of knee replacements. My mom used one, I even have a friend whose husband had an accident in a golf cart (long story) and anyways had to have surgery on his knee and is using a cpm.

Work was okay, read, filled out workbooks, watched videos etc...Slow starting, but need to learn the ropes first.

Pamela, I accidently erased Big Brother last night. My mom and dad told me who was nominated. Makes me so mad that I did that. I hit erase instead of fast forward. Oops....

I need to ask you all a prayer favor, my best friends sister who is probably about 39 or 40 all of a sudden has severe swelling in her liver and spleen, but they can't find any reason for it. Everything is coming back negative, but she can't work because the Dr.'s are worried that her spleen will rupture. Her name is Nikki Corno. Thanks so much!!

I waited till post-op to say anything, even though you probably know.. but in our anatomy class we had to watch a video of knee replacement surgery. Oh Em Gee. It was like an hour long surgery and so brutal. Took a hammer to the knee and everything, I don't normally get queasy with medical stuff, but it hurt so bad to watch it!!!! I can't imagine what it feels like waking up from it. I'm glad they gave you the good meds!

Can't wait till you can tell us how it was such a great decision when you're climbing rock walls and all that :)

Hey girls~

I didn't have time to post this morning because...wait until you hear this!

Well, on Sat. we got our new electric bill...wait for it...$765!!!!!!!! WTF doesn't even begin to cover it. Well, we have high summer bills, especially in the new house because of the 10ft ceilings and pool. But last month it was $405. Which we paid...and they DIDN'T GET! So, online to the bank site...and then I call the company, and I paid the service account and not the customer account. THE GUY SAID YOU PAID YOUR ADDRESS!!! WTF...the address didn't receive the $$$.

So this morning we were at the bank and had them fax over our payment WHICH WAS CLEARLY TAKEN OUT OF OUR ACCT!!!

I did go to the gym first though! Then we drove to Riverside (about an hour away) to meet Jenny, Sara and Sara's new baby Harlow Prescilla. We had a great lunch then came home and stimulated the economy a bit at the NIKE outlet and Wally World.

I've got a shitload of papers still...this load is like uuuuuggggggggg!!!

xoxoxo

Jane, try to go online and see it! I already know who won POV, but need to find out who the replacement nom was! My Walden is interferring w/ my BB addiction!

HELLO HELLO!!!

WHERE BE THE VIOLETS? Just checking in w/ ya'll!! I am trying to get through a painful load of papers...uuggg. Here is an example of ONE SENTENCE I am reading:

The initial setup for this assignment as I began to complete it began with me obtaining permission from my principal, the child’s parents, and making sure that the child himself was comfortable with being interviewed and observed, being that summer school at the school to which I’m currently employed is still in session, in order to fulfill this task. [PK1] That is one PAINFUL sentence.

Back to it!

Good afternoon, Violets..

I've had a lazzzzzzzzy day today. Did my morning exercises, then took a nap. Had lunch... 1/2 a flatbread 6" sub... and then took a nap. An all afternoon nap!! Kris has arrived to give me my shot. Bob went golfing for a couple of hours and I slept the whole time he was gone. I missed out on an exercise session because I can't do them myself. But I still have time to get the two more times in yet today.

No cmm here, Janie. My doctor doesn't use them.

I hope to get some more walking in this afternoon. Walking isn't painful, bending is. Just trying to get a range of motion back. I told the therapist I had to be able to get to California in September and she said no problem.

$1 butter burgers for supper tonight. wooo hoooo.

The weather is beautiful out. I sure do miss going in the pool and laying in the sun.

Hope everyone is having a good day.

That IS a painful sentence, Pam! If you insert lots of legal terms in there, then you'll know what I do all day!

bleh bleh bleh... today has been a weird, sleepy, odd day...

Judy, so happy to read that you're doing so well!

Hey to everyone.

Gotta go think about dinner... didn't I just feed these people?

Uhg, I've been sleeping like poop lately too. I'm a belly sleeper and for two weeks now it hurts to sleep on my belly so I toss and turn all night. I wake up a few times a night too to pee and have a hard time going back to sleep. Someone told ne not to drink anything past 6 but who can do that??? I get home from work around 630 or 7 and then have dinner to make ect... I have to keep drinking...

No, I'm not showing yet Jane. I just look fatter, lol. My belly is hardening and my boobs are getting big. That's pretty much it so far. I lost 2 pounds which is weird because I'm getting enough to eat.

My doctor called me and told me that my bloodwork showed a risk for down's. So now we have to go see a specialist in two weeks to get genetic testing and a 2nd level ultrasound. They told me I could have an amnio done but we just think, what for? Whatever happens, happens. She told me that the results were common and most turn out ok. I just don't want to worry about it until we know for sure anything is wrong.

I have another regular ultrasound tomorrow and she said maybe we might be able to see boy or girl. I'm excited. We already picked out a boy name. The girl name I've had forever and juan was good with the name when I told him.

And all of a sudden I'm lactose intolerant??? I love milk and ice cream and cheese and now when I eat it my tummy HURTS... what's up with that?? Lol. Juan bought me a gallon of ice cream a month ago and I've only had a few bites. Normally I can finish it in a few days!

Oh and pretzels and peanuts at a shower??? What the hey? Is that normal? We are overeaters and overcookers in my family.

And judy, what happened at church, I'm dying to know.

Jane, did you actually eat the fly or spit it out?

Michelle, oh no, the no contact for a few days wouldn't fly with me. Ill have to learn but luckily I still have a few more years before they go off by themselves for anything. Actually my moms a worrier and she never dealt with it, lol. We still have to call and check in so she knows we are ok. Maybe its because we are all girls??? Well regardless, we try to avoid her worrying about us by just texting saing we are fine or a quick call.

Pam, I hope you got through your papers quickly. Nothing worse than having to work through something so monotnuous on a gorgeous summer day. I know I didn't even come close to spelling that correctly, lol.

The office smells like french fries today. Yummmmmm

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

      2. Doughgurl

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
