How much time can you be out on disability for?

Hey all;

I'm getting banded in July and am wondering how long it is possible to stay out on disability in 'recovery' for. I may be being laid off soon, and its to my advantage to be out as long as possible so I can stay under medical care and be covered by current insurance.

You take a few sick days. You will be recovered and ready to go back to work a day or two later unless your job requires heavy lifting.

Most of use take 3 to 5 days off but there is no long recovery period.
