Youare lucky they did the Lipo under your arms. Mine didn't and i have alot of excess flab under there and can't wear underwire bras. It sucks alot,i'm hoping losing weight will help with that. As far as the pain it should be gone by now, when I had mine I felt great in no time. Like less than 2 weeks it's the best thing i ever did for myself.

I keep telling myself I am luky because my insurrance covered reduction only. My Dr. added the Lipo and lift at no extra cost. I am sure one day I will look back on this and feel that is was all worth it, but for now I hurt! lol

You will, and the pain will go away. But be prepared to have those nerve pains for awhile mine lasted several years. But it wasn't anything I couldn't live with. And congrats on the new girls wait till you can wear a strappy shirt and not have to worry. I'm just worried about the looking old thing now. Didn't even consider losing weight making me look old. EEECK

Sorry, I didn't mean to put a scare into anyone. I'm just speaking from my own experience and it has made me look older. But everyone is different and it depends on how much elasticity you have in your skin. I think the thing that drives me nuts is my jowels are sagging like a basset hound and I've lost 2 of the 3 chins I had so the skin is saggy under my neck. You know it could just be the age coming on combined with the weight loss I don't know or it could just be my ex bestie that felt the need to point out my saggy face so that's what I notice when I look in the mirror. But want to express that it doesn't mean it will happen to you. My DH says I'm just nit pickin cause I spend to much time critiquing every little thing. I think he might be right.

Well I go back to the Doctors today. Hopefully we well find out why I am still in so much pain. My breast are fine it is underneath and to the side. I think it might be more from the Lipo. It is a constant burning feeling that hurts alot. Two vicodine every 4 hours helps but still does not take the pain away.
I had lipo on the sides and underneath my arms and that was the sorest part of it all. I think that's most likely what your Dr. will tell you. Hope you feel better soon.

I had my reduction and lift a year and a half before the Band. It was the most painful thing I have ever experienced...but all worth it. I would do it again in a heart beat. Since I was a 42F and nearly 250 pounds, my doctor would only take me down to a D saying that if I lost weight she didn't want me coming back for implants! LOL. When surgery was over I was actually still a 40 DD. Now that I've lost 75 pounds I just had a measurement--still a 38D (I can actually wear 36Ds--they give me my cleavage). I actually think they feel small, but that's because they used to be so huge. Alot of people lose/gain in the boob area first. Not me--they are always the last thing to go. I'm glad to say I love my boobs now! They don't touch my stomach anymore (which I feared them dropping if I lost too much weight). My boob job is actually the reason I got the band. I realized my stomach was now seen alot more than when I had boobs! Ugh. But, thankfully, my lift appears to have held up. Your girls will settle down soon, and I'm sure they'll match right up with your smaller body as you lose the weight.

Good luck!

Crystal

I just want to thank everyone for sharring and for your advice.

crystal-Sorry for your pain, but thanks for posting. I was kinda wonderring if there was something wrong with me or my DR. because I was the only one still in a lot of pain 2 wks after surgery. I did go to the doctors again today. I do have a slight infection, nothing major. He did take the metal instument they use to take out stiches, well he used this to scrape the scabs off the insision under my breast and around the areola. Not as painful as it sounds, but not fun either. He told me to order the compression bra. Kind of expensive. I was hoping to get away with just a sports bra. He also said the pain could be more for me because of my fibromyalgia and b/c I have had 3 surgeries in 4 months so my body is use to the pain meds. Anyways I do feel better having seen him and having fresh bandages. O my gosh I forgot this is not my blogg. Sorry for it being so long.

Teri, I had Lipo on hips many years ago and the pain and the heat lasted for about 5 weeks with me and it hurt if I bumped into anything. Hope you're doing alright.

Well I am 9 wks. post op now, and I am in still in pain. My nipples are very sore and the inscision is still very painful. I cant do Water execise because the bouncing hurts to much. My Dr. sounds like a used car salesman, so I cant trust anything he says. Am I supposed to still be in pain this far out. I just wish I knew if this is normal I could stop worrying. I should probably mention my surgeon is on probation for gross neglegence (sp?) This adds to my anxiety, and why I can't trust what he says

Hi:

Based on what you said about your surgeon, I would get a second opinion.

Hope your pain goes away soon.

Please keep us posted.

Take care.

Sue

I wish I could say something to make you feel better. It may be a bit of a rough road but probably a good idea to talk to another doctor. Take care dear,

Lena

It's my pleasure. I hope all is well with you though it sounds like it's not too good at the moment. Take care dear. I'm always here to talk but often don't have any great answers.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
