My surgery is Monday May 17th @ 8:30am (I might back out)

My surgery is this Monday May 17th @ 8:30am I can not express enough how terrified I am of being put to sleep. That is my MAIN problem here!! I fear that I might now wake up or something might go wrong while I am asleep IE stop breathing or heart stop!! I have asked several people this week even ones that are not lap band patients about being put to sleep and they all tell me that it will be just fine...... I am still however crying...... Maybe I should just back out and lose weight the natural way..... I have tried and failed so many times..... and now with all these new health problems I have ..... Sleep Apnea, High Blood Pressure, High Cholesterol, Borderline diabetic, Acid Reflux...etc. I don't know how I am going to manage doing it naturally!! I am so torn and my surgery is practically here. My mother tells me I am getting on that table weather I like it or not.... she says she does not want to lose her daughter at age 28 from health issues.... I on the other hand DO NOT want to lose my life from being put to sleep!! SERIOUSLY I need a lot of prayers and some guidance on this one guys.......... I am a NERVOUS wreck who need to get it together........ FAST!!!!:w00t::confused::laugh::frown::frown:

OH WOW!!! Hehehe I am sorry but I just had to laugh kuz I would so totally do that too. In all honesty I am so scared that I won't make it out of the surgery room, but in reality I am at more danger not getting it done. I hope there is a nurse Bridget when I go in for mine, so she can be there for me as yours was. I am so looking forward to reading everything from you as you start this wonderful journey.

I agree.. Bridget was an angel..... she would not let me back out!! Thanks

did you do it?

So proud of you chocolate, we all have those insecurities when we got ready for banding. I did too. Not enough to back out, but enough to scare you sh....less. But in 2 to 3 months you'll be so happy, even more so than now, because you'll be about 30 lbs less. Way to go chocolate!

Congrats on going through with it! My surgery is June 2nd!

I have the same conerns you do, I just say to myself that God will be with me and I will be just fine. I am doing this so I can have a better quality of life and be here for my family.

Congratulations, Dana, and welcome to band land!

Now, get ready to enjoy the journey, and the love and support of your bandster family

Debbie!

Congratulations! If you don't inspire all the pre-surgery people, I don't know what will!

I'm happy and proud of you!

Wonderful!!! So glad you went through it!!!
