Weeks 1-4 eating requirements?

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I've been looking at what everyone else has been eating and I noticed something. I have different requirements from my Dr. For these first 6 weeks after banding I must make sure I'm getting in 60-80 g of Protein and at least 64 oz of fluids.

Does anyone else have this requirement?

Thanks

Melissa

I too have the same requirements. I think it is across the board with those two things...I am curious to see if they are. :)

Those are the same requirements I have, too. I am on day 6 and so glad to be adding some real Protein instead of those protein shakes!

I think the biggest variations come with the amount of time you are on liquids vs. mushies vs. solids. I have to be on liquids for 3 weeks, then right to solids. I'm two weeks today, and can't wait for the liquid phase to be done. It is killing me!

As far as I know, everyone is expected to eat 60+ grams of Protein (my nutritionist said 70) and at least 64 ounces of Water. I can have other things if they will fit in my pouch after the protein. I was told to try and get that amount of protein even when on liquids, soft foods, etc. I totally avoided the mashed potatoes amd other carbs as I knew they would make me hungrier.

I have the same requirements as well. I was banded May 4th. I am having a hard time getting the Protein requirement. I am very tired of having Soup, Jello, and the Protein Shakes. I will start on pureed foods next week, but I'm not really looking forward to that either. At least I can have mashed potatoes then though! I do pureed for a week then soft foods for a week. After that I can have a regular diet. So looking forward to that!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
