Woohoo, I'm now banded!

Didn't get released until around 7:30pm, and just made it home a few minutes ago. A little sore. Right now it's mostly the gas in my shoulders that are bothering me, unless I move around a lot. Don't forget the Gas-X! Also, a pillow for the ride home. Every little bump feels like a huge pot hole.

Hope all the other 7/13 banders are doing well!

congrats! Hope all is going well for you!

Good luck all! My surgery is Friday morning and I couldn't be more excited. Pre-op diet has been a breeze (though it had 2 days of colonoscopy prep at the beginning of it, it just happened to be scheduled this week too).

My band is scheduled for July 29th. I would like to hear from those who were banded earlier this month. What do Ineed to expect... Please someone ease my nerves...

My BMI is 45 and I am 37 years old... 4'11" at 230 lbs.

If I dont do this I may not see age 40. Where can I find support groups to attend in Mississippi?

I'm going in on the 27th also. Scared and excited! Wish I could have done this when I was a lot younger.... Oh well, at least my health will benefit and that's really what it's all about! :)

I was banded on July 13th and I have to say, so far, so good. I'm not in much pain and I really don't have much appetite. Only four 1/2" incisions and one 2" incision all up pretty high on my abdomen so not suffering too much. Feel like I did a few hundred crunches (yeah, like that will happen!). Had a little nausea post surgery, but it went pretty well. I even took a little walk outside last evening with my dh...

Hang in there! It's only as scary as you make it out to be. (My starting BMI was 40.4 and I'm 46 yrs.

I got released at 3:30 yesterday and you are right-the ride home was pretty hard. My belly doesn't hurt too much now and I'm starting to figure out what I can drink. I was glad to see in your blog that you had a weight gain also(not in a WEIGHT GAIN way!) because I was pretty concerned when I stepped on the scale this morning and discovered that I had gained 2 lbs. How is that possible??? I didn't have any food for over 2 days and I gain weight? It must be all of the IV's and anethesia. Good luck to all of you-this is a whole new uncharted territory for us.

My surgery is next Wed, Jul 21st. I had to do the Protein Shakes for 2 weeks pre-op. The ones I drink isn't that bad. They really taste like a mikeshake.

I did have about a 4lb gain while in the hospital. I assumed it was the IV fluids and all the gas. I still have a lot of the gas, but it's slowly getting better. I have lost 3 of those 4lbs though, so it comes right off.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
