I am headed out to the hospital in a hour. My stomach is making some crazy noises since I haven't been able to eat since yesterday.

I have to be at the hospital at 9am tomorrow. I'm kind-of starting to freak out. I'm not really nervous about the surgery- I'm worried about the after part. Wondering if I am really going to be able to stay away from the foods that have controlled (and ruined) my life. I just hope I am not putting too much faith on the band. My will power is zilch, so it's got it's work cut out for it.

Hopefully, like any addiction, the urge to eat will lessen with time.

Either way, I'm going to give it my all!!!

Congratulations to all of those that have been banded this week. And GOOD LUCK to my fellow Friday Bandsters!!

I finished the magnesium citrate and I'm not really going... I hope I'm jsut kinda empty and that's why. And I have to be at the hospital at 8am. So many pre-op instructions to go over. Getting everything ready to make it an easy morning for me. Good luck to everyone!

They didn't tell me to do the citrate stuff- I haven't gone in a few day's though, so maybe I should.

My only instructions was no jewlery, lotion, or polish- Wash my stomach the night before and morning of, with a soap they gave me, and don't eat after midnight.

I guess every place is different, but that was my insturctions. I'd probably wait and do it after, just to be safe. Better to do that, than to pay for it just to have them make you take it off.

I just got some super cute polish I had ordered. I want to wear it SO bad!! Sucks- Lol- Someone said they will watch the color of your toes for something:o/ I have no idea.

That was so kind of you!!! Only good blessing will come your way for sharing your time towards the goals of his health

Hi, I got banded on the 11th too. I came home the day of surgery. Everything is going ok. I am still really sore. Ate very little today and going to take a full shower tomorrow-yay. How did you get along?

Hey All, Was great to get back on here and see all of the posts. Well my surgery was tuesday and it went well. I came home Wednesday. I am still pretty sore but nothing unmanagable. I did experience a lot of the back and shoulder pain from the gas build up from the surgery. It is true that the only thing that really helps is walking, walking, walking!!! The pain medicine relieves it but doesn't take away the gas. Sorry to be crude but walking is the only thing that made it pass for me and the doc said that it is pretty normal. Tomorrow will be first day of food. Can have 3 tablespoons of pureed protein three times a day. Not sure about the whole pureed thing but will give it a try. Trying to do this just as they prescribe for optimum results!!! Good luck to all of you tomorrow!!!!! Will be thinking of you and praying for you.

Im calling to find out tomorrow.. haha

My surgery was on the 11th as well. I am finding that as I move around a lot, the soreness seems to get better each day. Just joined a gym today. I will have to heal before I can do anything much but I'm looking forward to embracing the whole lifestyle change. Best of luck to you!

Hi everyone. I am glad to see postings from everyone who has had their procedure this week. I got banded yesterday at 10am and was home by 6pm. Rumors are true...very sore. I completely agree with the walking advise. The biggest pain is getting up from the bed or couch. He also repaired a hernia. I slept pretty good last night. I elevated my head and laid on my back. I cannot lay on either side. It feels like everything is pulling. I am on liquids until tomorrow and that is when I go to thicker liquids.

I want to give a shout out to the nurses at Memorial Hospital Jacksonville Florida. It was the most pleasant hospital experience I have had. They were by my side through the entire day. The nicest people. The hospital also has free valet parking.

We are sort of like groupies now. I think I am going to make a t-shirt that says "I'm with the BAND".

Has a thread been started under the next forum for us May10-14 peeps?

Glad your doing well. I am too. My headache finally went away when I drank a small amount of warm tea. My dr office says black coffee is ok too so I'm having some now. I never did cut back on caffine like is suggested so I'm sure that is why I had the headache.

I took out the Q-ball today. That was weird pulling that catheter out of my stomach. It didn't hurt at all. I had hunger pains this morning. I had a couple of ounces of Protein drink and my stomach was bubbling. I gave up soft drinks and caffeine a few months ago so no headache for me. The port site is still really sore this morning but only when I get up out of a seat. The more I move around the pain subsides. It's like it is stiff there. They put it right where my waistband is then I get instructions to not have my waistband on the site. ummm...then don't put the port at my waistband!! I have to be "steve urkel" and pull my pants and undergarments up to my armpits to keep it off my incisions. Craziness!!

I am starting full liquids today. I was banded Wednesday. I drank just a few ounces this morning and my stomach is bubbling and I feel hunger. Thin Soup for lunch. I can't wait.

Hey yall- I had my surgery Friday, and I can finally sit in front of the computer without it hurting me )

Everything went smooth, but when I woke up, my mouth was so dry I wanted to vomit. The nurse gave me some ice chips, but that really didn't help any, and after about 4, I felt too ful to have any more.

Gas pains have been my biggest obstical. They flippin SUCK! Lol-

I weighed this morning, and I'm down to 228 (from 240 last Thursday) Not bad huh? Woke up this morning with my first hunger pains. Either that, or I needed Water.

Is anyone else having a hard time getting their bladder to empty? I have to sit there and fight mine. Never had this problem with any other surgery, so I dunno :smile2:/

Anyhoo- Hope everyone else is doing well!

We are all on our way now!!! Yippee!!!)
