I assume you have cookbooks, and I assume he can read and folow directions. He can cook his own damn food.

And there you have it .... ROFLMFAO !

You can cook just about anything in a crock pot. The web is full of recipes.< /p>

Today I cleaned and cut some boneless chicken breast and put that in my crock pot with some Good Seasons italian dressing. I mix the dry with about 1/2 cup of Water (no oil) and just let it cook for a few hours. You can throw in a can of Soup, like cream of mushroom at the end if you want. I made some mashed cauliflower (for me) yesterday and DH will eat that tonight as well. I'll pass on the chicken for now. I also was bored yesterday so I sat at the kitchen table and chopped up some fresh carrots so tonight I'll make some fresh carrots w/some brown sugar sauce. If I didn't have them already cut you can bet your boopie I would open a can and say here !! LOL

Do whats easiest for you, you need to put you first.

HUGS !!!

I am continually amazed at hoe "helpless" we allow grown men to become. If mine doesn't want to cook, he can go out. My kids never eat what I cook for them anyway. The weird thing is that I love to cook. I see it as a different activitiy than eating. I actually see myself maybe cooking even more because I'll have the time to do it. I just won't eat it!

I guess I've been very blessed with my DH as he has been really helpful throughout all this. I'm 3 weeks post op, and on mushies. My kids are 9, 7 and 19 months. My 9 year old is a GREAT help in the kitchen and will usually make dinner for himself and his brothers. I stocked up on frozen TV dinners when they were 10/$10. They love the things. Even my 19 month old! His favorite is the chicken nuggets. For my husband, I bought him some HungryMan meals and some frozen pizzas (well, for all of them, really). Now on mushies, I just make what all of us can eat. Scrambled eggs, baked Beans, baked fish, tuna fish, stuff like that. I also make some stuff I can't have and that the rest will eat, but it sure makes meal preparation easier for me.

Dinner time isn't always a family time for us, so I try to make it so at least 3-4 times a week. No matter what we all are eating.

Just some thoughts,

My husband does as much cooking as I do, and is just as good. When I was on liquids, he took care of the meals most of the time. It was about 2 weeks for me. Then, when I was eating regular food again, I would make sure I could have the Protein portion, but would skip bread or stuff I can't have...but I'll make it for them. It's no big deal to me. For sleepyjean...I felt like you do once upon a time, but then I met DH, and now I believe!

I have also been recently banded and am still on the liquid stage. It is hard at times oh man does my stomach growl and sometimes I think I thougt it was gas pain but it was actually hunger pains. HURT SO BAD! and I have tried gax-x but it just does not work that good for me. I actually find my self cooking now more than before. It's almost as if cooking and looking and smelling the food is satisfying to me. I just keep thinking ("I can't have this now but I will in about 5 more weeks". " I won't be on liquids forever and this time will pass" "It will be ok but I have to have self control and portion control".) I had gotten away from cooking because I was so depressed about being fat. Now I am trying real hard to have a whole new attitude after surgery and I have more energy it seems like I am pepped up and excited about my future weight loss. As a result I am cooking more and cooking healthier for the whole family so that when I can eat normal food they will have been a little used to the difference. I am buying more fruits and veggies leaner meats such as turkey and chicken burgers. They had that last night for dinner and did not mind at all. Of course my children are 71/2 months,4 yr and 8 yr so they eat whaterver I tell them to eat. And my husband has been so supportive of all of this. He started losing weight about 3 years ago when he started working out everyday at the gym.Of course he asked me time and time again to go with him but I would not ( too embarrassed). Now he is getting me a membership to go with him there too.

Sorry if I rambled I just said what came to mind. Just try and do like and do and focus on the long term not the moment.

Hope this helps and good luck on your weight loss journey.

sleepyjean - I am so sorry you feel that way about marriage - it can be so much more -

comfort, love, laughter, friendship, familiar interests, joy, exploration of life, travel, fun, passion, sweetness, soooooo much more than you are understanding it to be.

Ladysplenda - I cooked every night for my DH - I made gourmet meals and told myself that I was not going to hide from food. I still make the same gourmet meals and now I eat along with DH - but much less. It never bothered me - but I enjoy cooking and would have missed it had I stopped just because I got the band.

I never consider the fact that I am on a diet.....it just doesn't feel that way.

Take care - nancy

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
