I am Embracing my body

Recommended Posts

throught this journey, I've had ups and down. Doubts and fears. Today I am embracing my body. I love to feel my curves that were hidden under all the fat. I am taking on a new found perception of myself. Major influences in my life has brought this on and I am more confident than ever.

keep the shiney side up!

that is sooo great, isn't it? I finally, for the first time in my life, really like my body. It may not be supermodel/magazine "perfect" but it is perfect. It is real, with all it's lumps and bumps. It is healthy! And my saggy belly skin is another thing I can just accept as part of my life's journey. My saggy belly once swelled with the new lives I brought into this world. So I thank it instead of hating it.

Very nice thread you started!

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to read positive posts such as yours. I made a promise to myself when I started this journey. It was to accept the body I ended up with and appreciate it. And, I do. I spent 13 yrs of my life obese and looked back at the fact that I never recognized and appreciated my slim figure prior to that.

If ppl could go into this with a reasonable picture in their minds of what the end result will be, we would all be happier in the end. Did I expect perfection? Nope. I just wanted to have the chance to make up for lost time and live in a healthy body again.

So happy for you and congrats on finding peace with your perception of what you expect when you look in the mirror.

I love this post. A post like this gave me the courage to get my lapband in the first place. I was afraid of becoming thin. I had been so used to my fat that I was afraid to lose it. Who would I be without my bubble?

Getting thin has been a psychological journey for me as I have had to learn to change my core values. In the upcoming weeks I am going in for a Tummy Tuck, which is a huge deal for me.

I tired to do the surgery in September, but I wasn't ready for the attention that my new body would bring me. I was still wanted to wear my fat suit. But over the months I challenged my thoughts and beliefs, and now I see that I am a beautiful woman. And you know what? I realized that I was always a beautiful woman.

I am so proud of everyone on this post! Thank you for starting it. I hope everyone reads it..

WOW! i get chills seeing how everyone appreciates these kinds of posts. to be honest, i talked from my heart in a positive light.. and that was enough for me.. but if it really touched someone, it gives me chills. really, we're all in the same boat. and we need more positive posts and comments like these. this was all so scary at first.. but as i shed more pounds, i continue to embrace my body everyday.

thank you all for the positive feedback.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
