Omg, Crystl congrats on your successful year as a bandster! You are truly an inspiration and a success story for those on the fence about being banded!

Christie- I'm so glad you're okay! You have seriously been through it girl! I hope and pray the worst is behind you!

Wow, Denise. Everyone okay out there? I'm with Butters--holy crap lol

Christie, you're scaring me and I think life is a joke.

I have an appointment for my 4th fill tomorrow and I am not sure if I am too tight, too loose or just right. Oh shit, I'm Goldilocks.

Do you guys go to fill appointments when you don't think you need adjusting?

I called and canceled my 3rd fill because I was so tight after my 2nd. Then I didn't go back for something like 9 months. I am self-pay. Many Docs who take insurance want to see you anyway ..... even if they don't do a fill.

Well next week I am lol! This will be my 5th and I am also not sure if I need one or not. Thank GOD for fluoro! I think I am pretty close, but I should not be able to eat as much crap as I've been these past couple of days. My meals aren't lasting 4 hours anymore either so maybe a teeny tiny tweak is in order. Do you have your fills under fluoro?

I'm LOLing @ Goldilocks!

My last appt I didn't get a fill even though they felt I could use a little tweak, but I still went because it was my 6mo check-up....so in other words I am no help . I am too scared of ending up like poor Christie and what that darn Steve keeps doing to her.

I think my surgeon's assistant thinks I'm addicted to fills. My band is over 1/2 full and I have never been full on 8 oz of food, nor have I ever had to eat eraser sized bites. Maybe I'm just a freak...

I vary day to day. Some days I can eat alot more than 8oz and take almost normal bites (as long as I chew the crap out of them) and other days I am eating pretty much just liquids, mushies, and sliders just to get SOMETHING in me.

Denise--earthquake--gosh! Thanks for encouragment--it does help

Bobilocks lol

Leigha--since he is banded, forget the heart--we are going band to band!! lol

Melody--enjoy and let me know how the carbs in the morning work--I would like to try it

Christie--Steve needs a timeout:)

Karen--addiction to fills? Kinda wish I had your problem--or better yet your doctor~

BTW I was trying to think of a name for band. Maybe Phil since I can't get a "phil":tt2:

Yes it is hot as my hubby would say--it is hotter than a whore at the Million Man March:ohmy:

Needless to say, I am PETRIFIED of ever getting another fill. I mean, seriously, my last fill was 3 1/2 months ago, why the heck did this happen now?

Karen-I e-mailed my docs nurse the week before my first fill with a question and her response was "are you jonesing for some saline sister?" So, anytime (uh hum, previously) that I felt I was loose I'd call and tell her I was jonesing for a fix. Love that girl.

I scared Bob, I scared Bob!!! Do I get an award or something???? I've decided Steve is bipolar and has serious emotional issues. His counterpart Eileen is an angel and never ever gives me an second of trouble, that's what I get for making my band a man...trouble trouble trouble.

I'm with Butters too, holy crap.

I also think Phil is a hysterical name for a band...or Phillup...like fill 'er up? Ah, but I'm a serious geek :-P

I'm supposed to start mushies tomorrow...I fear food, seriously, at this point, should be an interesting day. My co-workers have threatened to throw steak and chicken at me but since they were nice enough to IV my dehydrated butt yesterday I haven't gotten too smartass on 'em yet for it.

Bob, err, Goldi, when I decided I didn't need my 4th fill, I called and rescheduled it for a month...when the time came and I still didn't need it I just cancelled it and told them I'd call when I needed one. I have this freaky weird insurance at this point so fills are kind of a little paid for? It cost me about $100 when I go which is better than a lot of people but more than I want to throw at someone just to say hi...

Off to bed! Still running on fumes for now.

Christie, It really sounds like you got something stuck. When it happened to me over Memorial day weekend the doc told me he thought I had something stuck for awhile and it made my stoma area swell. I think that something was still stuck and swear I felt it drop the moment I had the unfill and took a drink of Water. It took about a week of baby steps and I was ready to have a fill fix.

Hey everyone, all's quiet on the western front. No damage, just an upset poochie. US Geological Survey downgraded it to 5.4.

It was just so funny, I felt it and said, "earthquake." Hubby says, "what?" I said again, "EARTHQUAKE!" Then he felt it and goes, "OHHHH!" I always feel them way before he does--if he feels them at all. I almost feel nauseous as they come on.

One of the technicians in my unit got called out for a Water main break in an air traffic control tower reported by the controllers. Turned out to be water sloshed out of the toilet! Controllers, such prima donnas. I can say that, I used to be one.

Humming Bird---congrats on the One Year Loss! That is soooooo fantastic! I am so impressed!

Christie---Keep feeling better! That was way strange so long after a fill.

Shad---Love the name Phil!

So, I am over my crazy eating from the holiday weekend. That was crazy, but fun.

I put on a couple pounds, but they've come off. yippee!

For those of you not on Facebook, Betsy's husband had a heart attack last night, she requested prayers.

Well I scraped another pound off, took 18 days. 8 to go.

I went shopping yesterday! I bought a really pretty dress (size 8) and Jessica Simpson shoes with 5" heels ! I have a wedding to go to Friday. There will be a lot of people there that I haven't seen since before I was banded. I am excited and nervous. My ex-"friend" who I ejected from my life after she showed her bad attitude about banding will be there. She is thin and thinks everyone should just eat less and exercise like she does. I am hoping to just avoid her. I'm not sure if the bride knows we had a falling out and if she doesn't she probably put us at the same table, so mingling will be in order.

I will post pictures when I get them.

News:

Betsy put an update on Facebook. Not a heart attack, it was angina and he is being released momentarily.

I went for my 4th fill appointment today and between my PA and me decided that I am at my sweet spot and did nothing. I scheduled my next appointment for 2 months out.

I also had my after picture taken for the wall of shame. Leigha, if you ever go to the Colleyville office again, look for me. :)

Used some tough love on a whiner the other day and had 3 people reply that I was rude. Not bad numbers considering I got private messages from 5 people saying, "right on"

It's not what some people want to hear but I think it is what most of us need to hear.

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
