WOOHOO!!! If only I had the body of batgirl to go with the wings...::bored::...the cracking like a whip thing...and the motorcycle crack, oh my, good laughs guys, good laughs!

I am still tight today but not painfully miserably so. I can drink! I can eat a little so I think I'm on the mend. Definitely better than yesterday. Bob, good luck! As I said before fill #3 was the one that kicked my butt...I was tight the first few day and just got tighter as time went on...it was the weirdest thing....Good luck, go slow!

Hello all! I have been reading your posts...I, too, have bat wings :bored:...not good...not good...to catch you up...I met with the surgeon concerning my knees and he said that I've lost enough weight and plus the fact that I'm a Lap Band patient, who follows the rules (I guess, proven myself) he can start with the surgeries. My first knee is next Tue. and I really need your thoughts and prayers. I'm highly motivated to get my mobility back but am fearful of the recovery process. I've heard soooo many horror stories. Just trying to stay positive, listening to my music, cleaning the house like crazy, and getting all the preop stuff done. Tomorrow they empty my band . The PA said that if I do well they can put it all back within a weeks time. But that it has to be about a week and no longer. If it's a longer time then they will put the Fluid back in slowly. Sooooo, I'm hoping to do well so I can get refilled right away. That about catches you up. Anybody wanna watch a farm for three days?...lol...Dottie

Dottie, that's great news. I wish you all the best. Do you have to get a complete unfill prior to knee surgery in case of nausea?

So, had to share. I did freaking awesome for exercise this week! I have 235 minutes in just from Monday through Friday (cardio and scuplting with weights) !!! I didn't realize it! Not that I like doing it, but I sooo feel like I've accomplished something afterward. I even got up at 5:30 yesterday AND today and exercised before I went to work! Yahoooo! Hopefully I can behave this weekend with my food choices (weekends are always the worst, I'm more structured at work) and hopefully I'll have a nice loss. I'm down one pound since I signed in to the 4th of July challenge on Monday, so fingers crossed I can make it 2!!!! Yeah!

Hope everyone is having a good day! TGIF!

Dottie-- My grandfather had both knees and hips replaced in his 60's and I remember him saying how glad he was that he did it because it allowed him to do what he wanted for 15 years after that. I will be thinking about you Tuesday.

Karen-- Your an exercise junkie now! Do they have an "anonymous" for that? I'm so happy for you.

Bob-- How was the eating? I have my fills done at Forest Park by Sandy (under floro) she has never stuck me more than once. The last time she wasn't there and another lady did it and the needle broke but that has been the worse thing that has happened. As a matter of fact I haven't even seen or talked to Dr Kim since I got banded in October, if I have a question I just call Sandy since she is banded as well.

Shammah-- Post pics of the new cut! We want to see.

Christie-- I am going to wait 1 year after goal to decide on PS, or I should say, which PS I have to have. Its looking like boob lift for sure and maybe TT, we will see.

I guess I am going to go back to work now, I have been getting paperwork done for the accountant all week, and I am sick of it! I cant even farm because I am too busy! WTH?:bored:

Yes, they took all the Fluid from my band about an hour ago . I can go back in two weeks to get most, if not all, put back in and only if I'm doing well. Thanks to all for the well wishes!!!

Dottie, This will just be a bump in the road to you feeling better and getting around better. You will do great with the recovery. You are still very young compared to many who have knee replacements. Be sure to keep us all posted when you can. I'll be thinking of you ....... good thoughts, of course.

I think I need some removed. I am getting stuck on yogurt

It's going to be another liquid weekend.

Maybe I should panic and look for sympathy in the forum

yea, BT that sounds pretty tight for you. Mine loosened up a bit when that happened with my 2nd fill, but I did get to the point I could easily eat things like yogurt.

Dottie--thinking of you for your surgery. I know you will do fine:thumbup:--sorry I cannot farm--I cannot even keep my cafe going!

Karen--alright on the exercise--what DVD's are you doing--I was wondering because I use "The Firm" that comes with weights and has four tapes for cardio and sculpting

Bob--hope things loosen up a bit. I am now curious about this 3rd fill and what it will do!

I don't understand!!! I had 0.8 cc removed 2 weeks ago and ate like a pig for a week but the second week I was back to healthy eating and I haven't exercised in 2 weeks because I've been so busy!! I haven't lost anything!!!!!

What's wrong with this band? I should have never had this surgery!!!!! I can't handle this stress and failure!

Dottie! You'll do great and life will be so much more enjoyable. The key to a great recovery with a total knee replacement is therapy do everything they tell you as many times as they tell ya. If you sit on your butt and don't do your homework because it hurts you'll have trouble. I scheduled my dad this week for an ortho consult for a total knee too and have threatened to beat him if he doesn't do what they tell him to (he will, he's a good patient and very active). Once this one heals he's going for the other knee then getting a right total ankle replacement. Last year he had his left ankle fused. He's tall and skinny with bird legs and has been a volleyball/softball/basketball player forever and had so many sprains and breaks and his arthritis is just horrible... Good luck and anytime you need a cheerleader we're here for ya!

Bob and shad-I'm not officially referring to it as the curse of fill #3...although, hey, the weight loss was amazing! Take it easy bob and I'll keep my fingers crossed you start to loosen up a bit. When I was that tight I never got hungry and had to force myself to eat that was a totally bizarre feeling after a lifetime of starving all the time.

Everyone else-Rock on with the exercise and keep up the good work!

 LOL !!!

I'm a complete failure too! I have not changed my ticker in a long time. I admit I don't exercise much and don't think the rules apply to me, but I'm stressed!

I have an idea. Let's all file a class action suit against the makers of ours bands and our surgeons. We aren't losing as fast as we'd like and once in a while it is inconvenient.

I am actually forcing myself to eat. Not that bad. I am living on yogurt; cottage cheese; Protein Shakes and turkey chili.

I woke up this morning thinking of you Bob...scary, very scary. Even when it's a pain in the ass I still love my band. I got wild and crazy last night and had 2 or 3 bites of pizza (tiny, well chewed, slow between bites, etc...), no go. Had the worst deep down retching to the toenails I've had in a long time and today I'm all liquids too...sigh..you'd think I'd learn. Apparently I get 2 good days for every bad day which is better than the 2 bad days for every good day I was having before. I miss Breakfast I mean a REAL breakfast with biscuits and, well, FOOD....but it's all for a good cause in the end...

I put a new Facebook picture up and have had the most hysterical messages about it from people that haven't seen me in a year or two. Makes the head swell but it's nice!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!
