Good jon nycphoenix.

montynic that egg sounds heavenly. Congrats on the good follow-up appt and progression. I'm hoping for the same type of appt today.

thinatheart & beautiful congrats on the surgery dates. For the ticker: 1)go to tickerfactory.com 2)click on "weight loss" 3)follow the steps as they guide you through creating your unique ticker 4) at the end you will have the option to copy the html code 5)paste that code into your signature (under the edit signature option on your user cp). The directions are courtesy of montynic....I'm just passing them on..lol

Good luck to all being banded today. Have a great day everybody.

I'm so glad to hear everyone is doing well. You guys are certainly leading us April Bunnies in the right direction:thumbup:. I'm three days into my pre-op diet (2-3 shakes and one lean meat with one veggie meal) and I'm going to my PCP to get my "ok" for surgery today. Starting to get anxious and excited. Thanks for the support and congrats again.

Kristina

Had my surgery yesterday and home around noon. Slept good last night on Loritab. Got in over 60 oz of Water and two Protein Drinks yesterday. Walked about a quarter mile.

Not taking the Loritab today as it makes me feel fuzzy and dizzy. I am feeling my stitches a bit now so I had my husband go get me some liquid Tylenol. Walked half a mile and have had 40 oz of water and one Protein Drink. Started adding dissolvable Fiber to my Protein drink so I do not get constipated.

I stopped taking my Metformin (last dose might before surgery) and my blood sugar today was 115. It has been running 150 in the AM. I am watching it closely and hoping I do not have to get some liquid Metformin.

I have five incisions. They are stapled, not stitched. The biggest one has a bit of drainage, but not too much. They are sore, but nothing I would call pain. Hurts the most when I roll over.

I get really full really fast, with only a few drinks of liquid. Not hungry and can't even imagine eating at this point.

I hope everyone is doing as well as I am!:smile2:

WOW!! It sounds like everyone is doing so well, CONGRATS!!! I am getting really excited for my surgery next week Wednesday, 4/14!

I have a question for the "Veteran April Bandster Bunnies"...What things should I take with me to the hospital and what things do I need to make sure I have at home for my return? Any input would be GREAT!!

Thanks!!

Good luck to all those who are being banded tomorrow.

I packed a bag for the hospital with things I had been told like Gas-X and my Cpap, book, etc. Never even opened up my bag! They took away my C-Pap and not aware if they used it or not. I took out my contacts and put them in my case, and the next thing I really knew, I was going home.

Since I got home I have used the Gas-X a few times, my Protein Powder, dissolvable fiber and chicken broth. I had my husband go get me some liquid Tylenol because I have not used the Loi-Tab on day two. Made me dizzy and just not in that much pain. Doctor also said to get some Glad Press and Seal to cover up my incisions so I could shower. Haven't tried that yet.

All my woryry about what to take was really for nothing as it was over so fast!

Good luck - hope your surgery is as uneventful as mine.:smile2:

Good Luck to ya Waynooo. We'll see ya on the losers bench.

A new Me for Me- If you have big boobs take a good bra. I had the gas-x strips, lip balm (you will need & use it), supplies for contact lens care and have a pillow in the car for under the seatbelt. That is all I had that I really used.

My 1 week post op appt today went great. Progressed to mushy, ok to exercise (no crunches), incisions are healing great. That dermabond is some wonderful stuff. Officially of of the BP medication. Bonus: got my braces of today, also..Yay!!!:smile2:

I didn't have any issues with the protein. I used the Protein Shots from GNC and thinned it with Water. Maybe someone else will chime in. Great that you are staying hydrated. the proein will help with saiety. It did for me, anyway.:smile2:

Glad to see that you are doing so well. I was asking about you on yesterday. Everyday feels much better. I had to sleep on my back for the first 2 nights. Now I sleep comfy on either side. My hunger came back around day 4 or so. You really are doing terrific. The April Bandster Bunnies ROCK!!!

After waiting 7 months....I can't believe it's finally here. I get banded tomorrow morning at 7:30am - I've been so busy with work and trying to keep it a secret from everyone that it kind of snuck up on me. Been doing the Protein Shakes for 1 1/2 weeks now and I'm not even hungry......I even made Meatball sandwiches for my family tonight and didn't even crave one (well, maybe a little). I guess I'm ready!!!! My doc makes everyone spend the night in the hospital, so I won't be home until Saturday.....

I have been sore - just as others described it - like I've done about a 1000 crunches. On Tuesday, we did a trip to Auburn, AL (about 2 hrs away) to watch my son play baseball. I didn't think it would be too taxing but it turned into a long day. I felt nausea about 11:00pm, as we started home. I took all my meds with me and my Protein Shake. I took the nausea meds and made it home with no problems. I really took it easy on Wednesday and today. I did manage to walk on the treadmill today for 20 mins. I got to take a quick shower today and that was great after walking. I got more Protein in today and I could tell it made me feel better. I am finishing the last one now. Today, I got in more calories but I am still on thin liquids and will be for another 11 days before I can move to full liquids. I have noticed that seeing all the food commercials look really good but not too bad.

happytrucker280~ Glad to hear your post-op went well and you got advanced to mushy foods. Hope your first post-banding food experience is as amazing as mine was :smile2:

Froggie D! Glad to hear your surgery went well. I was wondering about you yesterday.

waynoo & HappyDay~ Good luck on your surgeries tomorrow. Here's hoping everything goes well and you have speedy hospital discharges!

mamasugar~ Hope you enjoyed getting to see hubby and baby. Looking forward to your update.

As for me, last night was the first night I was able to sleep comfortably in bed. I slept on my side for most of the night and even rolled onto my stomach for a few hours (I'm usually a tummy sleeper). And, today was my first day without Lortab!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
