whoop whoop! aug 26th baby! I dont mean to wish my summer away but I wish it was here already!

August will be the month for me. I have my surgeon and already have my protein shake brought. I'm just waiting to know whether I will off for two months for my heel pain....

My date is the 11th. Starting my 2 week liquid on tuesday!

I am set for August 3rd! No pre-op liquid diet required. Lost 30 lbs from 3 month nutrition class. After reading how everybody is talking about having to suffer through the strict diets, I started feeling guilty began worrying about the size of my liver, so I decided to ramp up my diet. I have 9 days left.

I am also a teacher and am working now to get my room ready now so I can get the heavy lifting done prior to surgery. We moved to a different building, so there is so much more to be done than normal.

My doctor only requires liquid diet 1-2 days post op and then it will be on to mushies! Good luck to all of you!

Hi all... I am having my band placed Aug 26th i am self pay and am going to Mexico to have it done so i dont have to do all kinds of different insurance mandated stuff like 6 mos supervised diets and stuff like that. i do have to do a 2 week pre-op diet and am getting kind of scared of that cuz i have never done well on diets and it looks kinda expensive to buy all low carb food... well good luck to everyone...

I've been reading this forum everyday faithfully, but as of this very afternoon .......(I call in the morning) I will be getting my surgery date! Finally! So I know I will be able to sleep tonight, but I am sure I will be up EARLY, so as to call the Doc.'s office as soon as it opens for "the date"..I'll probably dream about sugar plums, and ponies..lololol

maybe even Ol saint nick himself night all you Augest Bandsters:rolleyes:

Good luck, Kelly. Let us know what your date is.

8/11 is my date! So ready for it to begin!

Well every Aug. bandster I am official....Aug. 6th....YEAH!

I am having my very first liquid protein shake. It's not too bad tasting. We'll see how the rest of the day goes.

I'llb be joining you w/the shakes on Saturday, ddow! :scared2:

Surgery 8/13 for me! Saturday begins pre-op diet... And Monday I will begin getting my classroom all ready so it' done before surgery!

Any of you teachers decide whether or not to tell your campus or team??

This is a big question for me. I am a teacher too and the last thing I want is all the attention on me and not the programs and things that I am working on at work. I decided not to tell everyone, however, I have a very close group of three other friends there at work and how I will slip it past them...honestly they are going to know something is up. So then the big question is, "Once one person knows, is everyone going to know?" I don't want to come across as dishonest. I am stuck on this question too.

Hi, Jen. I totally understand. I have only told my boss and two co-workers. I asked them for there discresion and told them I didn't want it to be common knowledge. Hopefully, they will keep it quiet. I decided not to tell anyone else at work and I'm sure I will be asked when I start losing weight. My plan is to tell them that I am on a medical diet that is monitored by my doctor. I don't plan on telling them I have had the band. It's none of their business.

I need some help. I started on the liquid diet today. The doctor supplies the Protein powders. I got chocolate and vanilla. The vanilla is not drinkable. I almost gagged on it. The chocolate is not quite as bad but let me tell you....I wouldn't need to have the band done if this were the only thing I could eat for the rest of my life. I would starve to death.

I need help. What are other doing? Is anyone else on just protein powders and if so how are you doing?

Jen- I hear ya. I've told most family members... And I really don't want to keep it a "secret".... But, come on... I work with 98% women! Women talk.. We're the worst! LOL. I teach spec ed, and I have 2 assistants... So I feel I will have to tell them.. I am also thinking I will tell the school nurse........ Beyond that.. I may just tell as people ask.. And go from there. I am proud of my decision- not ashamed of it.... But I don't want to be the focus of back to school inservice either! :cursing:

Ddow: I have to do the pre-made EAS shakes... Wish I had some advice!
