I don't even know where to start...

Recommended Posts

I feel like I started this journey off really well, I lost about 20 lbs the first 2 weeks and I lost a tiny bit since then, but have since gained it back. I went for fill in July, then we went on a vacation and when we got back my husband was diagnosed with cancer. He is in remissing now after months of chemo and still we are doing testing and such but I feel like I am almost using that as an excuse. I also run my own sucessful business and I feel like I let that consume all my time along with being a wife and mom. But I need something to get me back on track! I hate going to my doctor, he doesn't give me enough time to talk to him about my problems and the nurse is really judgemental. I'm sure I need alot more of a fill, I can't eat much in the morning, and am tight when I first start to eat, but after I eat my first few bites, I can eat whatever and however much i want without feeling full....

I was down to 176 now I am back to 184  I don't want to keep going up, I am only 22 lbs from where I started and I could imagine how easily that could go back on.

I need something a bit more structured I guess... as far as what to do during the day.

Any help please? I need a friend who can listen and share some advice.

Thanks!

Welcome and congratulations on deciding to get back on track.

Advice:

1. Don't beat yourself up over your past regressions. Move forward from here.

2. Begin to journal everything you put in your mouth(food and drink) during the next week. What time and how much and how do you feel after eating it. This will help you decide if you are maybe a little too tight. It will also help you examine how many calories you are consuming per day. I eat 1200-1500 per day.

3. After journaling, go back to your doctor and show him what you have. If you are consuming slider foods because they go down easy, you are a little too tight and need a slight unfill. It is possible to be tighter in the morning, but not be too tight. Examining what you are eating later in the day is a better indicator.

4. If you aren't exercising yet, try to slowly work in a little. This is what I am beginning now. My weight loss has stalled and I know it isn't going to move again until I MOVE MY BUTT!

Don't get discouraged and log on and vent if you need to, it helps!

Check out www.mydailyplate.com -- its free journaling of your food and exercise and it should help you get some awareness of what you are eating. Hang in there. You can do this.

I also had an incredibly difficult stressful year and I am convinced our bodies do not allow us to turn lose of excess fat as a protection mechanism so hopefully if things on that aspect are better, with dedicated eating and tracking, you'll be on a good path again.

God Bless.

Absolutely start journaling everything!!I think we need that from time to time in order to be honest with ourselves! I had a three month plateau and I knew I had good restriction...the answers were in the journal and since I found out what I was doing wrong...I have lost 8 pounds in three weeks.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
