Love GNC Amplified Wheyboloic Protein 60

Recommended Posts

Hey Bandsters,

I am now four days since surgery and my nutritionist wants me to consume at least 60grams of Protein a day. The GNC Amplified has 60grams of protein in 12 oz of drink. If you add skim or 1% milk to it then the drink has 72grams of protein. If you drink two ounces per serving then at each serving you would get 12 grams of protein. If you do this six times in one day for example, Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner, snack. Then you will have eaten 72grams of protein. Wooo Hooo. Of course drink 60 ounces of other Clear Liquids as well and you could even add some Protein Powder to those to get even more protein. My nutritionist said do not consume more than 100grams of protein a day. This has not been that bad. I am full and have lots of energy. I hope this keeps up!

Just thought I would share the info. I have had the vanilla and the chocolate and both are good. I like choc.best.

Thanks,

Michelle :smile2:

I also love this protein! My doc has never recommended Protein Shakes in any fashion, but I started with these after being banded for a bit and it really helps me get my Protein in and it's usually what I have for breakfast.

It's also good right after a work out--I try to work out in the morning and then have this for breakfast afterwards. I mix 4 ice cubes, 1 to 1.5 scoops of chocolate powder, 1-2 tablespoons of Peanut Butter and 8-10 oz of 1% milk. I tried the French Vanilla flavor, but, UGH, it's WAY too sweet for me! I used it in smoothies and mixed into yogurt and oatmeal, but I just couldn't get used to it. I'll stick with chocolate!

ETA: don't forget the 1st week of the month you get a discount if you are a GNC member, and a few times a year they have buy one get one half off--perfect for buying the big jugs of powder!

This is also my favorite! I love the chocolate and add just a little bit of Peanut Butter. It truly taste like a peanut butter cup!

Protein Shake recipe

Freeze 12oz of milk and 3 scoops of GNC Amplified Protein. Each 1oz ice cube= 6grams of Protein.

Mix

3 protein ice cubes (18grams of protein)

6oz of skim milk (6 grams of protein)

1 tbsp of reduced fat Peanut Butter (2 grams of protein)

2 scoops of GNC Amplified Protein chocolate (40 grams of protein).

1/2 of a ripe banana.

Mix in blender until smooth.

This is delicious. It almost feels like you are cheating. But you aren't. I have been drinking this during my liquid diet and have been full and very energetic.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
