  1. 4days post op and I know that it is just my incisions healing but I ITCH! omg, I didn't itch this much with any other surgery. Can I use liquid benadryl?
  2. maybe try spacing them out? when I was still in the hospital, i had 8 pills I had to take and it took me 2 hours to get through that. every 15 minutes I had to take a pill...sucked but I got and kept them down!
  3. I'm right along beside you! I want to add that I don't want to sleep for hours because I'm pooped from doing things...I want to play with my kids and not be winded, sore or achy...not having to take pain meds would be a great addition too!
  4. WOW!!! I'm happy that you have the medical background. I would have overreacted and panicked and thought I was dying! Good luck, hope that you get the meds and heal well.
  5. 14 days until I'm banded (4/21), no prescribed pre op...although I'm doing something on my own so that I won't have the heavy liver that I keep hearing about...can't wait to sit (more like run) on the losers bench with you all!
  6. I'm going to do before pics (clothed)and post one in the bathroom so I can see it every morning to remind me of what I don't want to go back to. I'm also going to carry one with me at all times..
  7. <<<starting her 2 week countdown, surgery on the 21st! No pre op diet, but I'm going to do a little something to ween myself into my post op. Where are my BandDay triplets???
  8. Ok, I was just reading in another thread, and I wish I could quote the poster but since I'm on my cell I can't, but she basically stated that she would never post that she was having LapBand surgery on FB. Does everyone know that you can have a seprate page away from your "real" freinds and family? My wls fb and yt is for those that understand what I'm going through right now. I know of a lot of people that don't have their image or in my case, use their real last name, just so that they can keep coworkers, nosey cousins and whoever else out. So if you want to be my new cousin on the Journey side or Lapband side of the family, look me up!
  9. I was a half a pack a day smoker. I got the call(2/22) for my surgery date (4/21) and the pre op testing (3/31) and was told that I needed to be smokefree. I started right then! I had patches, gum and lozenges. I think I chewed 2pcs of gum for total time of 5mins and sucked on a lozenge for about 2mins...never used the patches :-D they just were not me. I quit cold on 3/4, I had 1 smoke that day, 1 on the 1st of the month, and 1 on the 28th of feb. Is it hard???YES! But it is important that you follow the surgeons orders...btw, got my test results back yestrday and no trace of nicotine! Good luck!
  10. I think most surgeons are trying to prevent eating disorders. I don't think that if you go out of the country they require it. I also think maybe, I could be wrong though, insurance wants it. Is it really such a bad thing to talk to someone for an hour?
  11. There's a thread around here that has over 200 reciepies...someone sent me the link yesterday! Let me find it http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/48306-200-protein-shake-recipes/ Try that...good luck!
  12. I'm staying overnight but technically only 23hours so my stay will be sameday procedure. My surgery isn't until 1030am so I expect to be in my room by 1pm and have to be gone by noon the next day. Find out if you can do it this way. It eased my nerves knowing that I was going to have help the first 24hrs
  13. Lmao! What was the question again??? I was too busy laughing at what they told you! As pp's have stated, you can have sugars...in moderation and if you continue to abuse your band in time, it will erode, slip, or break if you're that good. S/n I hope your surgeon is better educated than the person who did your psych workup
  14. Bump! And id you have twitter post that as well.
  15. I'm everywhere now! Follow me and I'll follow back...its all about accounatability! Add it all! YT DfaultsLB FB Dora's LapBand Journey
  16. Cottage cheese, greek yogurt, malt o meal, cream of wheat, sf apple sauce...I'll go get my bag, I have lots of goodies ideas from friends docs and websites!
  17. make that triplets...I looked at my paperwork closer and it says April 21st!
  18. I was thinking that I wanted to eat it all before surgery (4/21) but after wondering what it is that I wanted, I could come up with nothing! I guess because I know that everything in moderation. So, dont fret. that is just one more thing that you don't have to worry about. I think that pasta is going to be the hardest thing for me, but I know that there is a day (not soon) that I'll be able to put it back in my menu! Good luck! Dora
  19. I tried a couple of Nectars...can't remember what flavors, but I was not a fan of them. As far as ready-made, I liked the EAS vanilla and banana. But what I really like is a sf carnation instant breakfast with plain greek yogurt and/or fruit. Brings your protein to about 19 or 20grams. That's pretty good for one sitting. Good luck and hope you make it to the April Bandsters with me! (4/21)
  20. That happened to me too! They treat bandsters diffrent! I went to a lapband meeting, there were only 6 of us there, but I got a lot of info! The other 2 that I went to were for everyone, but I did feel singled out because of my choice in surgery..
  21. <<<<April 22nd...finally got scheduled!
  22. I seen him on Thursday, when I sent an email to the surgeons office the following Monday, they had the results.
  23. Glad for your post! This is how information gets out. We can all read the numbrers, but knowing the reason behind them is so much better.
  24. That sounds like the doctors isn't comfortable or expierienced with the band. Or it could be money...get a second opinion from another surgeon..good luck!
  25. How are things with the band???
