  1. Ahahaha. same. I hate both of them. Tim tams are boring (really only good for biting each end and sucking chocolate milk through, but what chocolate coated biscuit isn't?) and vegemite is horrible. The new vegemite is better, I think, it's taste is less intense. I like Promite though (a variation of vegemite, it's yummier and doesn't taste like poison) with grilled cheese ontop. I of course, can't eat that stuff anymore anyways...But it's not a big loss to me meat pies and sausage rolls are probably better Aussie food for taste - but they're so fattening, I'd keep away from them and they're only good with tomato sauce (ketchup). I'm not a very good Aussie, am I?
  2. Kilograms to Pounds (kg to lb) conversion calculator There's a calculator there. I've lost 13 kilos (28 pounds) in just over a month.
  3. Yogurt? Try adding water to it.
  4. Depends. If I'm not losing much weight in that week I'll go from 500-800. Normally though and more recently I'll go 800-900. If I go above that then I don't lose weight. I exercise 4 times a week for an hour a day and 3 times a week at 2 hours a day. So I do about 10 hours of exercise a week. At the moment, I need a fill so I've been really hungry. Self restriction is a pain in the bum and drives me nutts.
  5. Before and after photos thart inspire me: http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f117/post-your-before-during-after-pictures-84949/ Good luck to you :-D
  6. 1 King Size chocolate candy bar (Snickers, Hershey, etc.) 500 calories!!! GEEZ LOL. I wouldn't be able to eat any of that stuff - it'd send me into a sugar craving spiral of doom.
  7. We're lucky to live in Australia where it's not as big here. I turned the music in my living room up so I couldn't hear the door. I'm sure there was only a couple of them anyways.
  8. I do the same thing. There's lollies and junkfood stashed around the house now because I've asked everyone to hide theirs. There's no shame in trying to help yourself.
  9. I felt that way when I did aerobics classes as a teenager. I would end the class with a red face (from working so hard) and I'd be sweating a lot. It was obvious I was unfit, and because I'd worked so hard it looked like I was about to pass out - but I wasn't...So people would just stare at me. I'm doing aqua aerobics with all the oldies in a couple of hours That seems to be my thing these days. Does your gym membership involve aerobics classes? You might find that there's some classes in there for overweight people, or people with injuries or something like that - I usually feel more comfortable in those classes.
  10. Maybe try laying flat as much as possible. The more movement of the stomach muscles, the more likely the port will rip from the abdominal wall - not saying that that's what has happened to you, but even a tiny little tear can be very painful. Just try resting for a couple of days to get the body tissues strong again and see what happens.
  11. If I have a little gas and am eating something, the food goes down through the band and air comes out at the top when the food is down, making a funny noise.
  12. You can still eat ice cream and be under your calorie goal for the day, ya know
  13. Did she change it? I see this: 1st Fill 9/3/10: 2ccs 2nd Fill 9/21/10: 1cc 3rd Fill 10/3/10: 1cc I heard her say that she's had 4 fills...and in the signature it says 3, so she probably has forgotten to put the 4th in there :wink2:
  14. :wink2: Awesome. I'm happy for you. It must be liberating.
  15. Like Melissa said, keeping a food journal is great. It's really helped me know exactly how many calories I'm putting into my body and taking out with exercise. I like fitday.com or calorieking.com (thanks Elcee :smile2:) It's worked for me, it might work for you. Also...You shouldn't be vomitting at all :-/ it might be your body telling you that you're eating too much or that your band is too tight. Good luck you, :wink2:
  16. I'm struggling with it as we speak lol. I try to avoid salty foods so I don't get thirsty while eating and I drink a lot a bit before I eat - I also find that makes me less hungry.
  17. I've heard a bunch of different numbers, so I'm curious. :wink2:
  18. It times like these I'm greatful for studying fashion design back in the day. - They taught us to sew. Edit: I wonder if getting sewing classes would be worth it for people who don't know how to sew? It's heaps of fun and so much more awesome wearing the clothes that you know actually fit you properly lol.
  19. I am going to try my absolute best to never have antyhing stuck again lol. It was the worst feeling in the world. I looked in the mirror and my face was almost green :smile2:
  20. Yeah, I thought it was meant to make the popping noise...So the second time when he did it in a different area without the popping noise it was a bit freaky. I'll have to see on Thursday, I think that's when my appointment is. We'll see if there's any fill left. Looks like if there is it might need to be tightened anyways.
  21. Mmm. It was quite strange though when I'd had a fill and couldn't really eat anything much at all then it changed to being able to eat whatever I wanted overnight. I'm still able to eat whatever I want now, even after a week. I actually think that the person who did my fill may have pierced the tubing. He firstly got a needle that was too small but it pierced the port, I felt it...It went POP! He then said the needle was too small to use, so he got a bigger one out and went to an entirely different place and there was no pop, but he was able to get fill in and out...Bizaare. I really hope there's not a problem there, but someone said the other day that (because it's ongoing and my stomach hasn't re-tightened) that it could be me losing fat around the stomach pouch. Though it's unlikely because it all just happened over night - literally. My port has been hurting a bit lately too, but I think that's because I lay on my tummy and it's sticking out now that I've lost a few kilos. I really hope the problem just solves itself It was like my fill was too tight and then KABLAM! It was too loose. Blergh. I've got an appointment soon anyways. Fingers crossed. Thanks for your help :smile2:
  22. Ahhh, I see LOL. The meat thing - nooo, I'd avoid that at all costs lol. I gagged when I smelt even the savoury cheesebake one without meat in it  The custard ones taste like pumpkin soup - vom. The savoury ones - I've learnt my lesson with those lol. I just keep with the fruity ones. The oats are well blended, I don't think there's much in there. I think it's just used to thicken it. I was eating that one when I was on mushies and was fine with it. I'm not sure if you can buy those ones where you live though coz I'm in Australia. You can get Jello ones too that are fruity and they're quite nice. I like them better than the fruit purees because those ones I find are pretty sugary and at times I'm too lazy to puree my own fruit :smile2: But yeah, I see what you mean with the savoury ones. I feel so sorry for babies who have to eat that garbage.
  23. Straight to the point. I had a moment yesterday when I was really hungry. My fill seems to have disapeared (or I'm losing fat around my stomach incredibly quickly) and I had to turn off the TV everytime a fast food commercial came on. A month and 10 days after surgery and I still have control problems - but I'm starting to get people to hide their Snacks in their rooms, not in the cupboard. I may be selfish, but you've gotta do what works for you to keep with it!
  24. Someone said the other day that they were taking gas-x strips to help with gas pain (the kind that goes up to your shoulder). I'm not sure if that'd help because it goes through the stomach, but it's worth a try maybe.
