You sound like you are too tight. Plus "I throw up more than before" is not how the band should work. You should NOT be throwing up at all. Period.

Vomiting, reflux, heartburn, sore throat, etc.. are not acceptable side effects of the band in order to lose weight. You should not put up with them. You do so at your own peril and possible damage to your band, esophagus and health.

Discuss getting a slight unfill with your doctor. In the meantime take something OTC for heartburn. It might help with the sore throat.

I agree with Cleosmum. It sounds like you are too tight and you need to get some fill taken out.

Yup.. too tight. A slight unfill .1 or .2 cc will make a world of difference. Don't delay getting this taken care of.. too much reflux or pb'ing can cause big problems.

What can I do to lose weight faster. It looks like I am a failure. No one says I look like I lost weight. My husband said I don't look like it. I am a soild person. before my journey 10 months ago I weighed 191pounds. I am now weighing 171 pounds. What can I do to speed up my weight lost at a consistent and safe pace?

Make good food choices , stick to the rules and exercise. If you are already exercising maybe you need to do a different type or exercise harder/faster.

I dont know what your height or goal weight is, but seems like you started with a smaller amount of weight to lose. The less you have to lose the slower it will go. The heavier you are the more calories your body expends to function.

I don't know if you are exercising, but that would be an obvious way to speed things up. How many calories a day are you eating? If you're exercising and eating the appropriate amount of calories, perhaps you could increase or change your workout, vary your calories or change the types of foods you're eating (if you're eating a lot of carbs, cut down, if you're not eating any carbs add a few in, same for fat and protein). How much water/liquid are you consuming a day? Most of us don't drink enough so adding more Water daily can also help with weight loss. Good luck!

Do you keep a food journal? either online or on paper.

Online is really better because the sites often can determine the calories for you. I like livestrong.com/thedailyplate, but others love fitday.com and fatsecret.com has its fans. Or there's caloriecount.about.com OR you can use one of the band makers sites lapband.com or realize.com

Writing or typing out everything that goes in your mouth makes you much more conscious of how much you're actually eating.

Do you weigh and measure your food? You could try doing that a while and see if it helps.

Previous posters advised changing or upping your exercise and to cut out carbs. I agree with both of those suggestions, but to be more specific about the carbs.. you need to avoid the high glycemic carbs as much as possible. This means things made with white flour (bread, pasta), white rice, white potatoes and all corn. Read labels on packages and avoid HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) as much as possible. If it's the first ingredient on the list.. either throw it out or don't buy it in the first place. If it's way down on the list, near the last.. you can probably get away with using the item just a little bit.

As another poster said, the less you have to lose the slower it goes. Hang in there.. it will come off if you keep trying.

Preach! :wink2:

Like Melissa said, keeping a food journal is great. It's really helped me know exactly how many calories I'm putting into my body and taking out with exercise.

I like fitday.com or calorieking.com (thanks Elcee :smile2:)

It's worked for me, it might work for you.

Also...You shouldn't be vomitting at all :-/ it might be your body telling you that you're eating too much or that your band is too tight.

Good luck you, :wink2:
