after SEVERAL Stuck episodes and I too now use the baby spoons. learned that here on the boards but it works for me!

Thank you MOMW for understanding....i did start taking acidophilus and it seems to be helping a lot.....i may try probiotics also....going for a fill next week....hopefully this time things will work out.

I would have thought it was just an over fill had it happened just once...but it has happened now three times in one year where i am unfilled a little and then the gas from the other end is going like crazy. then i get re-filled to where i am restricted and then the acid reflux starts after a few weeks. so i go back and get unfilled a little then the gas starts again...horrible gas. then i get an unfil and then a few weeks later the acid reflux starts again. i can feel the gas brewing so to speak in my stomach but how it goes out differs if i am filled above 5.2 or below 4.....at 4 there is no restriction....at 5.2 better restriction. but now that it has happened so many times, i dont know what the deal is. I know it is not a miricle fix and i have to watch what i eat and excercise.....but the gas issue is keeping me from benefiting from the $20,000 surgery....anyone else experience this or am i breaking ground on this issue????

I have been banded since 04/22....a year now....only down 40lbs but more than i have lost in a long time. Here is my issue....When i get to my sweet spot, i get the worst acid reflux and have to get an unfill because the acid causes my esophogus (sp) to swell from the acid burns....then i get the unfil and gain weight but then i have the worst GAS ever.....so it seems as though with 4 in my band i can eat whatever, not lose weight and have the worst gas ever but then when i get filled to 5.2 or higher i lose weight but get the worst gerds/acid reflux ever.....i take pills prescribed by my regular doc who is aware of my lap band but i feel like i am yo yo dieting because of this up and down because of the flip flop of gas or acid reflux.....anybody else have this? what can i do so i can actually enjoy my lap band????

Try Cal-Ez...you can order it from CVS.COM.....it is 1000 mg calcium and 1000 i.u. Vitaman D3...you can put it in your drink, Soup, pudding or whatever and is tasteless.....women need calcium to keep us from the (sp)osteoperosis thing a ma jig......

I lost weight and my twice a year period started coming every month with spotting in between...(before banded) now that i am banded, the tighter i get the more regular and normal my period is becoming....also my bowl movements (yeah gross)are getting more regular and the gas i used to have is getting less and less.....I am in HEAVEN....

I had mine done in may of 2010 and am doing well. my cousin had hers done in 2008 and she is doing well. my friend had hers done in 2009 and is alive and kicking, The internet can give us enough information to talk us out of something or warn us of something. Gotta trust GOD and keep going....Best of luck to ya!

Hi, i did the same thing and just found out it is acid reflux. doctor prescribed some ant-acids for me to take, dont know if yours is the same but that is what mines is. OH and i hiccup when i am getting too full too.....great warning sign hey?

I had a fill on the 13th and feel great except i throw up more than before....more alarming to me though is i have a constant sore throat and my mouth is always moist like i am about to barf...especially at night when i am sleep...then there is the coughing.....am i tripping or should i be concerned? I finally can only eat 1/2 a cup per meal am full after just the protein and the weight is finally coming off....but the burning throat and the almost barfing in my sleep.....what is that???? anyone???

Well, I started seeing someone and am head over hills with him. He asked the same question about why i wasnt eating and i kept saying i was full. I didnt want to tell him right away because if he wasnt going to stick around it was none of his business....so after 6 weeks i finally told him and he has been super supportive of the whole thing.....go with what your gut says for you to do....trust that inside voice...we have it for a reason...and enjoy the ride!!!!

:mad:Not the after surgery gas that gets caught in the shoulder. I am 3 months out from surgery and the tighter i get in my band the more gas i get that comes out the downwind way...I have tried gasx, beano and other things but the gas keeps on building....anyone else have this issue and what can be done about it?

My cousin had the same issue after her lap band....you are not alone....but i feel your pain and will say a prayer for you....

Hang in there. I was banded 4/22 and for 6 weeks lost nothing...actually gained a few pounds but since my first fill on 6/2/10 of 4cc's I have been going down a pound a day and am loving it. You are in what is called bandster hell and it sure is a bad place to be but hang in there for the long haul.....it does start to work.

hey all! Finally got my first fill! I have a 10cc band and he put in 3cc's had me drink a cup of water, it went through no problem...so he put in 2cc's more and i drank and WHAT WAS THAT!!!! so he told me to let him know when i felt the water pass through and it was so weird to actually feel the water pass through! he capped me off at a little over 4cc's for my first fill and i am doing okay....liquids for two days....then mushies....but i didnt expect to feel sore in the inside of my stomach where the band is....i know it will past...cant wait to see how this fill takes cause he said six weeks before we do another one....COME ONE SWEET SPOT!!!!:ohmy::Dancing_biggrin:
