Hi from Baltimore :)
Hello There I've been lurking for the past few days.... posting little things here and there. So today I thought it was time to introduce myself! I'm Jes. I'm twenty three. I've been married to my love for four years now. We live in Baltimore, Maryland. I'm a teachers assistant. I am hoping to have my surgery in December! Thank you everyone who posts. Originally, I was leaning heavily towards the band. Then, my nutritionist made a comment, and made me start looking into the sleeve. Through reading this forum, I have decided the sleeve is the way to go I look forward to getting to know you guys!

At this point, I've put waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much into this marriage for anything to destroy it! LOL. I always tell my hubby that I'm going to trade him in though, it's a joke we have!

Need a Buddy!
Hi! I am in need of a buddy! Up until yesterday, I thought I was going to go through LapBand.... however, I am thinking I'd rather have the sleeve done instead. I am in the final stages of everything that needs to be done before submitting to insurance for pre-approval. And, looking towards a December surgery. I'd love to have someone to talk about this! I know NO ONE who has been sleeved. But, a few people who are Bandsters (including my mom!) I'd be open to emailing, FB, IM and texting! I'm pretty open to talking to just about anyone! But, I would like at least ONE buddy who is around my age, 23!! thanks for reading

Growing annoyed & QUICK!
I just found out last night, the nutritionist/dietitian through my surgeon's office is not covered by my insurance. And, I began to call the insurance company and search online for one who would be covered..... the lady at the insurance company gave me two numbers.... I thought YES! THis should be good. Nah, she gave me numbers to Pediatric dietitians :cursing: Now I am having a lot of trouble finding someone. I'm finding they're all either pediatric ones, or they are not available for my purpose :huh2: ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Anyone out there?!!?
Yayyyyyyyy! I'm glad there's finally some more December bandsters! I'm thrilled. I called my doctors office this Friday, and the only thing I need to do right now is have my doctors submit my last two weights from July and August. And meet with the psych. YAY I look forward to getting to know you guys!

What would you do?
I think 14 is just too young to mentally and physically go through with this. It's a life changing decision. And, there's just so much that goes into it. I would be afraid that it would be just too much for a 14 year old to take. I watch the Biggest Loser, and one of the girls on there had WLS at 14, and she just was clueless. The band is a tool to help you be successful. But, the real work comes within. I wish him the best of luck with whatever is chosen.

Too tight for liquids, can't see surgeon until Monday?
That's ridiculous. This has happened to my mom a few times. Luckily, she has a GREAT doctor who has re-opened his office.. or even met her in a general location to help her. She is EXTREMELY sensitive with her fills. and like you mentioned her saliva sometimes fills her up and makes her sick. I would try calling again. I've read EVERYWHERE on this site that going to the ER will be no help. They don't have experience with the band. My mom was almost at your point before her doctor said to meet her in a close location... and she told him that she ALMOST went to the ER.. and he said they wouldn't been able to do much. and it would of cost her 500 dollars. I hope you get some relief soon

Hair loss - Anyone?
My mom was loosing her hair in the beginning. I came on here and read that it could be because of a few things... We're pretty sure it was because she was taking TOO many Vitamins... I forget the exact one... and once she stopped taking them... it grew back!
