  1. LOL---no i dont eat all of that for breakfast---sorry my mistake i eat only 2 oz of oatmeal... sometimes i might have egg salad instead, but only 2 oz or less... but come to find out, oatmeal swells the pouch. so my NUT says NO NO NO on oatmeal... and yes, we were sleeved the same day... pam
  2. To be honest with you--There was not a single doubt in my mind that I wanted to do this. I was not worried or scared about it. What scared me was--dying. Not from the surgery but from NOT having the surgery. Good luck! Keep us posted...
  3. That is AWESOME! GRATZ!
  4. Hey guys, Yesterday I got a chance to talk to my nc from Kaiser. She said: 1- NO Protein SHAKES- Protein powder is expensive and cause weight gain. People add this and that to protien shakes and gain weight. Get your protein from your meat! 2- That hunger pain that you are feeling is because of lack of fluids. Drink more. It will go away. Warm fluids are better for the new pouch. Try that. Do NOT drink Ensure and or Boost, nothing but weight gainers. 3- NO oatmeal it is a sweller. It will make your stomach bigger and you will eat more and gain weight. 4- The reason why you are not losing weight right now is because your body is saying- "What the hell is going on?" Trust me, it will start kicking in. Just hang in there. 5- She asked, "Do you feel pain when you are eating?" I said, "Yes." She asks, "So what do you do?" I said, "I stop eating." She said, "Good, that's what you suppose to do." She also said, that some people just keep eating pass the pain and gain weight. (how..) 6- I said, "I don't feel that I am not getting enough calories." She said, "That's the idea. Even though you might be getting 300 calories, your body will kick in. Maybe not right away, but trust me--you will loose weight." 7- "Are you exercising?" "Yes, I am." "What are you doing." "I walk." "GOOD!" 8- "You feel weak and tired?" "Yes I do." She said, " that is because your body is trying to figure out where to get the energy from. Your body will realize that it will have to take it from the fat. So don't worry, this will go away." ---What do you guys think about that? Pam
  5. Let's see--- I had 2 to 3 oz of oatmeal for Breakfast. 2 oz of egg salad. I chew everything until its almost nothing... I dont drink Protein drinks at all. It makes me sick. I am sure I am not getting enough protein at all. Hey Vicki--do you live in sacramento?
  6. Hey Vicki, I feel like I am starving too---I would die for a Mc 'D Big Mac right about now. It's a weird feeling huh? Actually I think the body is re-adjusting a bit...Well of course it is, we only had 85% of our stomach removed... So tell me---this is what happens to me when I eat something...Like a just ate a bit of oatmeal. Maybe 3 bits or so. And all of a sudden my stomach hurts. I get pains. So I stop eating. But my mouth says--"THATS NOT ENOUGH!" Do you feel like that? And also, I feel like my body is screaming at me--"I NEED FOOD!" I have been feeling like this for about 3 days now... Let me know how you feel, ok? Pam
  7. Hey Vicki-- I am right with you! Remember you and I had the same surgery date. I was losing 1 lb a day and now nothing. My total loss since surgery is 11 lbs. Talk about a stall. OMG ! There is no way that I can get 64 oz of Fluid in as well. Today, I should start stage 3. Ya, sure. I am lucky enough to eat 8 oz of food a day (1 cup total). I still eat cream style stuff. I have talked to a few friends and they said that my body is in starvation mode. And it will catch up. I am not worried. In the "OLD DAYS" I would eat and eat. I was hungry all the time. I would eat anything and everything I wanted and now---BAM, down to only ounces of food a day. My body is like---WHAT? Where are the Big Macs and fries at? So now my body is holding onto everything. And pretty soon my body will have to start eating the fat. At least this is what I am told... Hang in there! You know I'M! Stay in touch pam
  8. I would find a new trainer before you get hurt... Just make sure that they have some experience with WLS. Personally, I would have fired him before we even started... Good luck!
  9. Hi Vicki, I never had a drain put in. I am still eating stage 2 foods...Solid liquids still... I am up to 150 cals a day and 18 oz of Water. I went in at 214 lbs and I am now 202. That is 12 pounds in 7 days that I lost. I will see my surgeon on Dec 9th. Maybe because I don't have the drain is why the appointment is so far away. Also Vicki, I had a hernia to boot. I am so lucky...So maybe thats another reason why I'm still not eating or drinking much. 2 surgeries for my dollar... And how are you doing? please let me know... Thanks, pam
  10. ok Stacy Thank you so much--- Pam
  11. If it's not against the rules it should be. Shame on her!
  12. That is awesome----You look great! GRATZ
  13. Hey guys, I am feeling a little better. I am 7 days Post-Op now. I am losing 1 pound a day. It's been like this for 5 days now. Is this common? To me it's kind of scary...I am so use to seeing the scales go up and up--never down and down--- Thanks, Pam
  14. Thank you all for your response. I will stay on the liquids and not stress right now on the Protein.. TY all have a great day
  15. Hi All, I am now 6 days post op. And still can not eat solid foods. I'm recording everything that goes in my mouth and here is the run down. This is an average day. liquids - 17oz Protein - 3g cal - 27 This is for an entire day. I just sip, sip and sip. I will take a lick here in there for food. My surgeon says that my stomach is a lot smaller because of the hernia. My stomach can hold 1oz at a time. I am losing 1 lb a day. I am now 203lb this morning. Please someone tell me, is this normal? Also, what if I make my goal weight of 130. If I am still eating like this, will I keep losing weight. So one day I wake up and I am 90 lbs? What makes a body to average out--or does it? Pam
