Practice makes perfect?
I had surgery the same day. I dont many issues with drinking. I just have to make sure I'm sitting up when I take a sip or it makes me feel sick. Sometimes it's too much, and I feel it. But, yesterday I was SO tired of Water... I used Crystal light to flavor it. And, it tasted so much better. And, I could get it down. I also added Protein to it. Goodluck

4 days post op
Tomorrow I will be four days post op... while I'm not sure where the past few days have gone I am glad they're passing so quickly. Each day I'm feeling a little better. I am now onto the full liquid phase of my diet. And, I was curious for those passed me what did you eat around now? My mother in law wants to know what I can have, so she can get it for me for Christmas dinner. But I am feeling a little confused. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks in advance.

Almost TWO hours LATE...
Ty, I like being on the loser side I think they measure to make sure you're outputting something, Meds finally kicked in for nausea. Hasn't really been an issue since coming home. I did just go outside and walk around the block with my hubby.

Almost TWO hours LATE...
but, none the less I was sleeved on Monday, December 20th. They told me to show up at the hospital by 11:30 and do everything to prep for my 1:30 surgery. I decided to be there by 11 in case I could get in early, I'd be good to go. But, I ended up waiting for at least two hours before I even seen my surgeon. I kept joking with everyone. I really wasn't nervous at all. I was more annoyed with running behind schedule then ANYTHING. I didn't have to get a Foley since I went to the bathroom before the surgery. And, I am so thankful for that. I did NOT want one of those. My husband and I joke that I have a 90 year old bladder. I have NO issue peeing what so ever. However, after surgery it did make me nervous because I had to kind of force it out. And, it made my stomach hurt a little. I am still in some pain, and still taking my pain meds. But, hoping to stop them ASAP. I wasn't able to walk around like I wanted while in the hospital because I was in pain and SO nauseous. But, today I found out why my side was hurting so much. They left the stinkin' heart monitor piece on me. So it kept sticking to my binder. Now I've taken it off I feel so much better. Leak test came back great. No complications during surgery. Now, I just wait and recover.

Not approved... same as DENIED?
I had the same problem. I was denied at first. They said they needed extra info. I asked what it was, and they let me know. I had everything, so I told them ok. With my insurance company (Cigna) they said there was no need to APPEAL. You could simply send it to the AI department. (AI is for ADDITIONAL information.) So I submitted everything on a Thursday, and was supposed to start my PRE OP on that following Monday. I didn't know what to do. I ended up starting Pre Op just in case. And, called Monday morning to find out I was indeed approved. And, would of found out that I was PRE approved that Friday if the fax machine at work had paper in it! That was almost two weeks ago, and my surgery is TOMORROW! Good luck on your journey. I think you should do the liquids just in case. It can't hurt anything.

The Countdown BEGINS!
After being DENIED, and then reconsidered my surgery date is VERY close. Friday was my last day of work until 2011. And, I will be SLEEVED on December 20th! I thought once I started my Pre Op Diet it would all seem real. But, it wasn't until the nurse called on Friday that it became REALLY real. I bought all my vitamins. I bought some stuff for afterwards. I've packed my bag, cleaned the house. And, now I wait! Monday December 20th, at 1:30 I will be SLEEVED! Thanks to everyone who posts here who has helped me so much in deciding I wanted the sleeve. And, a SPECIAL thanks for Tiffykins who has been AMAZING!

Met with the RE today--not so great VERY LONG SORRY
Congratulations. That is so exciting. I'm glad everything worked out. Someone shared this poem with me. I'm sorry it's long. But, it's a must read. There are women that become mothers without effort, without thought, without patience or loss and though they are good mothers and love their children, I know that I will be better. I will be better not because of genetics, or money or that I have read more books but because I have struggled and toiled for this child. I have longed and waited. I have cried and prayed. I have endured and planned over and over again. Like most things in life, the people who truly have appreciation are those who have struggled to attain their dreams. I will notice everything about my child. I will take time to watch my child sleep, explore and discover. I will marvel at this miracle every day for the rest of my life. I will be happy when I wake in the middle of the night to the sound of my child, knowing that I can comfort, hold and feed himand that I am not waking to take another temperature, pop another pill, take another shot or cry tears of a broken dream. My dream will be crying for me.I count myself lucky in this sense; that God has given me this insight, this special vision with which I will look upon my child that my friends will not see. Whether I parent a child I actually give birth to or achild that God leads me to, I will not be careless with my love. I will be a better mother for all that I have endured. I am a better wife, a better aunt, a better daughter, neighbor, friend and sister because I have known pain. I know disillusionment as I have been betrayed by my own body. I have been tried by fire and hell many neverface, yet given time, I stood tall. I have prevailed. I have succeeded. I have won. So now, when others hurt around me, I do not run from their pain in order to save myselfdiscomfort. I see it, mourn it, and join them in theirs. I listen. And even though I cannot make it better,I can make it less lonely.I have learned the immense power of another handholding tight to mine, of other eyes that moisten asthey learn to accept the harsh truth and when life is beyond hard. I have learned a compassionthat only comes with walking in those shoes. I have learned to appreciate life. Yes I will be a wonderful mother. ~Author Unknown..
