  1. I really wish I could of said that it was MY error. I really do! It's just awful that someone didn't even bother to proof read it. Especially since it's obviously from a doctors office.
  2. I went to the doctor to have him write me a letter stating the reasons I would be a good candidate for WLS. I thought it would look better if I included this along with the other information I would be faxing over to the insurance company. For the first time my doctor made me feel comfortable. He asked questions to make sure everything I wanted in the letter was placed in it. But, I guess it was more difficult that I imagined. Anyway this is the letter. She is a patient in our office for many years. She has been treated For depression, elevated blood pressure and morbid obesity. Her BMI 52 she tried Different diet for at least 10yrs unsussefully. She has a family history of D.M. and HTN. I believe she is a good candidate for periatric surgery. Any questions pleace Contact my Office. Thank you. This is EXACTLY word from WORD how it was typed. Even down to the placement of capital letters. Not only does this letter make no sense. But, it lists Periatric surgery. Periatric surgery does NOT exist. Did anyone proof read the letter before giving it to me? I don't think so! Now I have to wait until Friday to pick a new letter up.
  3. While it's sad to hear your relationship isn't surviving, I find it amazing the changes you have noticed in yourself. I hope your new life brings your great joy. And, that you'll start living the life you never thought possible before WLS!
  4. I'm starting the process.... so it's a ways off. But, I've thought of some goals that I can't wait to achieve! 1. Not to shop in the plus size section anymore. 2. Wear a DRESS and feel confident. But, over all the two biggest goals that would mean the world to me if I accomplished would be: One, have a baby :bolt: And, Two. To make it into the healthy level of BMI so that I can become a Bone Marrow/Stem Cell donor so that I could possibly give someone a fresh start at life. ... like an anonymous stranger did for my husband. <3
  5. Congratulations! That's so exciting. That is one of the reasons I really want this surgery. BABIES! HEALTHY babies. and HEALTHY me
  6. Congratulations! That's GREAT news
  7. Congratulations. What doctor did you use? I'm also from Maryland. I'm going to a seminar in 15 days!! I'm looking into Dr. You right now. But, if that doesn't work out. GBMC is the next closest to me Best of luck to you!
  8. Dr. Singh was the doctor my mom used :tt2:
  9. Thats awesome. I look forward to reading your blog!
  10. I looked up Dr. You. He's local to me. I'm going on August 5th to education class thingy they offer. LOL I met a girl who had him perform her surgery, she had the sleeve done. So, I'm trying to contact her to see how she is doing and what were her feelings on this doctor. Wow! I wasn't sure if you had your surgery or not until I posted this! So now I'm back to edit! You're newly banded! How do you feel? Congratulations on your progress!
  11. YAY! Best of luck to you! Wishing you a quick and relatively pain free recovery!
  12. Hi! How's everyone?! I'm Jes, I'm 23 and from Baltimore, Maryland!! I've been married for four years this September. My biggest fear in life was that I wouldn't be able to have children. And, a few years ago my fears were confirmed when we learned my husband would never be able to father a child due to his Cancer treatments. He's been Cancer free since October, and is over a year out from his Stem Cell transplant. That being said we decided that when we hit five years of marriage we'd start discussing our options for babies. I know in my heart that being this heavy, and with HBP it would be mean more road blocks for us. My mom had the surgery back in February and she is doing amazing. She's lost 35 pounds so far. I can see so many positive changes in her that I now wish the same changes in myself. I've been overweight for as long as I can remember. And, I've had high blood pressure for a few years, and currently afraid of diabetes since it runs rapid in my family. So I decided to start looking more into lap band more for myself :tt2: I've signed up for the orientation thing for August 5th. And, I signed up for an online one just in case I forget to ask any questions at one... I can ask at the other I'm excited the more I read on this site!
