  1. Congratulations. I wish you the best of luck during your journey.
  2. I'm sorry  My doctor recommended me for a sleep study. I told him that the only thing they'd be studying is me actin' a fool. I don't sleep in front of people well.
  3. It's a personal decision. While I wouldn't completely rule out your brothers opinion.. I would take it to heart. And, know that everyone is able to think what they want. But, this is about YOU. It's about the lifestyle you want for yourself. It's about YOUR health. I pretty much realized that without the band I can not be as successful as I could be WITH the band. I need it as a tool to help. It's not a miracle cure all. It will simply encourage me to make better choices, and it will encourage my belly to know it's limit. Whatever choice you make, make sure it's what's best for YOU.
  4. I just talked to my surgeon's office today. It looks like as long as I get done my nutritionist appointments and have my psych eval by the end of October, I should be able to have surgery in December! I specifically asked to have it then because I work at a school. I think it would be better to use my given time off, instead of just picking random times off. I'd rather have it before the New year. Big changes for the new year :rolleyes2: And, lastly. I could easily wait until April for Spring Break.. but with the expected nicer weather I'd rather not. Not to mention having to wait EVEN longer The wait now is killing me. Anyway... anyone ?!?! lol
  5. This new season just makes me want to cry. There's so much sadness. I normally don't keep up to date with this show. But this year I placed in on my DVR list.
  6. Congrats to you also! I'm just waiting for any kind of approval.
  7. After seeing this poll, I figured to give it a looksie, to see if my insurance company will cover it. I learned that for weight loss surgery patients, they will cover surgery to remove the access skin 18 months after surgery, if the person has a stable weight for six months.
  8. I just learned today that my doctors office has ALL My paperwork now. So I too will be stalking the insurance company soon!
  9. I am seeing Dr You. I haven't had the surgery yet. But, he seems really nice. I like him a lot. Good luck!
  10. I just had mine last week. All we did was go over my health. I answered some questions, and it was determined if I needed to participate in a sleep study or not. As well as what to expect. I also asked some questions.
  11. I hate regular yogurt. However, I can somewhat deal with greek yogurt in a small amount
  12. I would bet he did. I never realized it. But, Carnie Wilson was also banded
  13. All my paperwork has been submitted to my doctor's office. And, now they will submit it to the insurance company!!! So the waiting game OFFICIALLY begins!
  14. My doctor recommended the six months. He said he noticed a HUGE difference in his patients who completed the six months through another program. I already completed that part elsewhere, so I'm just waiting for the final word to as if it counts. Good luck to you! If you would like a buddy feel free to msg me  I'm new to this process too
  15. I decided to be upfront about my surgery. I figured if I ever had an incident where I needed their help, it would best benefit me if they knew ahead of time. But, at the same time my mom was banded before me, so I already knew how people would respond.
  16. I try only to let myself have it when out in public. It's working for the most part. I asked a co worker to STOP me from buying it during our morning trips to the Royal Farms! I have also used Excedrine in the past, when I gave it up. For those super bad head aches due to withdrawal. It helps because it has caffeine. for me, giving it up is still a work in progress. but, i'm not banded yet
  17. I follow a girl who also posts on here... go to Life After Weight Loss Surgery | The Band In Me she's awesome.
  18. whoohooo! That's a great victory. Congrats.
  19. Great job. Congrats.
  20. That's great news. Congrats.
  21. That is so sad. My thoughts go out to her family.
  22. I plan to give all mine away. My mom had Lapband in February has been giving her clothes to me as she's lost the weight. And, I put them in a basket because eventually we're going to have a clothing exchange.
