Waiting game
I'm so keeping my fingers crossed for you and I am hoping to follow your journey! I too have severe back issues and I'm getting injections to try and help the pain management (total of 7 injections so far). I don't know what caused my injury and they are trying to figure out exactly what went wrong with my back. But I'm hoping this RNY will help!!! Please keep me updated! I'm on month 3 of my nutrition classes (out of 6). Had my EDG, need sleep clearance... And heart clearance. They are very thorough! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Anyone just now starting thier 6 month supervised diet?
I'm on my nutrition clearance adventure now... 2 out of 6 completed and also hoping for mid November or early December approval! I'm full RNY as sleeve is not an option after I had the band a few years ago and got horrible reflux, which I still suffer from. Apparently the sleeve just makes reflux worse Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Revision from lap- band, already removed
I am RIGHT with you!! I had my band removed in 2014 bc it just did not work. My insurance is also Highmark BCBS. I have started the process of revision (even thought it's out!). I am waiting to see how things work out with my approval. ... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

3 Weeks post op...Doing great....BUT.....
Andy, Im only one week postop but .... my thought is, you need to be honest with the dr. but dont offer what isnt asked probly not the best advice- and take it or leave it.... but the surgeon knows its a tool. he also knows HOW you got where you are. so.... if he asks if you followed- i would say- yes, but not as thoroughly as i should have. he should not be holding back a fill if you arne't following rules- the fill will HELP you follow! at least, that is how i understand it! Good luck! Right now, im still follwoing diet exactly and i am so READY To eat food again. i am tired of liquids. and i still have one full week to go! ugh

Why do some people not need a fill?
I see a few people who have not ever needed a fill and are still losing successfully... how is this? how do you know if you wont need a fill? at this point, i am one week post op and loosing successfully! i am not really 'hungry' but im only on liquids. just curiuos how this works! THanks

Banded on Feb 1st
Almost one week postop... feeling okay! back at work today for the first time. i have to make it all day... i dont have any sick time left! ugh Surgery was uneventful- i was really happy with how LITTLE it hurt after the first two days. i am struggling with the pain (bruising) in the stiches spots... but really its not too bad! im okay with it struggling a bit wtih the protien intake- its hard. but i have managed. on full liquid diet for two weeks. and im counting down til mushie stage already- not a good sign! im hoping being at work will be better for me- since the kitchen isnt right there an the family isnt' around. being in the cubicle is easier i think! STill making myself get up and walk every hour So, all in all.... good so far! how is everyone else doing? Cheechtrish
