  3. I had surgery last tuesday and was back to work on monday! really- everyone is different but i was surprised how well i felt afterwards. Good luck!
  4. What happens if i DO eat something a bit more substantial too early? so far, week 1 postop. followed drs orders to a "T" but feeling hungry. very hungry. can't get many calories from full liquids. dropping weight, which is awesome, but i need to EAT something. have had sugar free popsicles, jello and soup. and cream of wheat (Whihc was filling!) just want to eat somthing if i made eggs.... what will happen???
  5. Andy, Im only one week postop but .... my thought is, you need to be honest with the dr. but dont offer what isnt asked probly not the best advice- and take it or leave it.... but the surgeon knows its a tool. he also knows HOW you got where you are. so.... if he asks if you followed- i would say- yes, but not as thoroughly as i should have. he should not be holding back a fill if you arne't following rules- the fill will HELP you follow! at least, that is how i understand it! Good luck! Right now, im still follwoing diet exactly and i am so READY To eat food again. i am tired of liquids. and i still have one full week to go! ugh
  6. I see a few people who have not ever needed a fill and are still losing successfully... how is this? how do you know if you wont need a fill? at this point, i am one week post op and loosing successfully! i am not really 'hungry' but im only on liquids. just curiuos how this works! THanks
  7. GOOD LUCK mominoc! I know how all of you are feeling- iw as there last week! i am one week postop (well, tomorrow i am one week) and let me tell you, its rough... but i lost 11 lbs int he first week! makes it a bit more easy to digest.... pun intended Hang in there- what you are feeling is normal and expected. Personally i cant wait til mushies in like 11 days! ugh. thats a long time! Hang in there all. February is gonna be an awesome month!!
  8. Almost one week postop... feeling okay! back at work today for the first time. i have to make it all day... i dont have any sick time left! ugh Surgery was uneventful- i was really happy with how LITTLE it hurt after the first two days. i am struggling with the pain (bruising) in the stiches spots... but really its not too bad! im okay with it struggling a bit wtih the protien intake- its hard. but i have managed. on full liquid diet for two weeks. and im counting down til mushie stage already- not a good sign! im hoping being at work will be better for me- since the kitchen isnt right there an the family isnt' around. being in the cubicle is easier i think! STill making myself get up and walk every hour So, all in all.... good so far! how is everyone else doing? Cheechtrish
  9. I have surgery on Tuesday! So glad it went well for you! did you stay in the hospital overnight? i am scheduled to be in for one night- had the option for going home same day- but i figure, if i can have nurses there.... thats wayyy better for me! Glad it went well for you! Thanks for sharing- makes me feel better too! Cheechtrish
  10. I am also scheduled for Feb 1st! Very excited! and anxious- start my clear liquid diet tomorrow!!
  11. So i start my all liquid preop tomorrow and should really be enjoying today- but sadly, the past four days i have had the FLU and been a nasty sick mess. nothing has stayed in me. today is my first day NOT being sick. so, my toast for Breakfast and crackers for lunch- looks like my ''exciting' last meal with my family will not be so exciting afterall. sigh. i wish it didnt go downt this way- but at least i have lost a ton of weight in four days having the flu!! LOL... gotta look on the bright side ...right? I am ready for this. but its scary when its right around the corner. right?
  12. I am scheduled for surgery on Feb 1st! i am so excited! my preop is 48 hours of all clear liquids only. not too bad-
  13. Wow! have you lost 34 lbs in just two weeks? or does that include your pre-op diet as well?!? impressive! sorry about the potty issues though. not looking forward to THAT. especially cause i have IBS- ugh.
  14. So, it has been quite the journey for me to get my sleeve. started my info session in October and i am off for two weeks starting now for the holidays, so the surgeon scheduled me for 12/21 surgery date. went through all testing- millions, it seemed.... to finally submit everything two fridays ago- up til friday of this past week- the insurance had not approved..i called, often, but didnt push anyone.... hard. called friday at 400 to my surgeons office to see if they heard anything- they were closed! so, i called the insurance co myself- the 'operator" at preapproval said that i was not approved. that the notes indicate they need more info from the dr office... so i ask, well, i am scheduled for tuesday- if i am approved, i start my pre-op (Clear liquids only) on Sunday... what should i do?? is the info needed just results that didn't come through the fax clearly?? or is it something i cannot do by tuesday? operator says she doesnt know and that the nurse who reviewed my file is gone for the day. so, i ask, if i am 'not approved' that info is needed.... is all hope lost? (my insurance changes 1/1/11 and the sleeve will no longer be an option fo rme. so i really want this to work- but i have no time to appeal!) I am on clear liquid diet today though.. might be for nothing.. but i want to be ready JUST in case?! any expereince out there to share??
  15. yes- i was thinking of doing the 1/2 reg 1/2 decaf and then moving slowly to all decaf. we can drink it again after surgery... yes??
  16. Okay- but WOW. 41 lbs in like one month!?! wow. maybe your body is just catching up?? two weeks of no loss? when did you reintroduce solids? (i havent been sleeved yet-so i am just getting info basically!) Sorry you are frustrated!!
  17. SO, i was told yesterday by my Nurse... that we have to STOP coffee before surgery. this is horrible news. i am totally addicted to coffee. how do i wean without getting an awful headache!?!? help me out!! i love my coffee. i call it my 'happy juice'..... ugh. but on the plus side... things are looking more and more positive for surgery to be approved!! still waiting for the office to submit to insurance but its postiive right now!
  18. how long did it take for your approval to go through? i have aetna too- and i am currently scheduled for 12/21... pending approval. i still have pulmonologist tomorrow AM- am very worried they will have me do sleep study. and that will crunch on myt ime even more. finishing my support and nutrition meetings now as well... just curious i am very worried about the insurance portion here! eek congrats to you!!!
  19. Rain---- okay then, fair enough. yes the pics are amazing that folks look soo different and i hope i do too. I know how you feeel on alot of your comments. and i think my hubbys fear is that i will realize i dont have to 'settle'.... not that i feel i did! but i think HE feels like i feel i did! make sense??
  20. Wow- glad im not alone in hubby acting that way- while hes supportive- he has said hes worried about me getting "attention" that i am not used to getting (His worry) and no matter how many times i tell him that its not about getting attention- or 'skinny'... that its about my health! it gets frustrating when im worried about the surgery but focusing on making my hubby feel OKAY with the way im goign to look. and im not sure i will even look THAT different.-= yes i have 130 lbs to lose- but im still ME. right!? so, anyway- glad im not the only one in this boat! Cheechtrish
  21. WOW. that is sooo awesome! congrats!!
  22. Assuming all the insurance stuff goes as planned.... my VSG will be on 12/21.... what will my christmas be like?? I know i will be home- 2 nights in hospital puts me back home on 1/23.... will i be up and moving around- helping my kids open packages.... ? I know i cant pick up anything heavy (so, not my 2 year old).... but will i be okay!!?? Thanks guys!!
  23. Honestly, im not sure HOW this is going to work with Aetna! i have been working with my PCP to work on my BP and pre diabetes diagnosis for the past two years- with both excersise and weight management. so, we will see. after all this- it might be denied anyway right!?! but then i have to go wtih BCBS who only covers teh band... .
  24. So, i have been lurking around here for about 6 weeks. My friend told me about the Sleeve- and i was excited about it! This past tuesday i went to an info session at the local hospital- everyone was very nice. they talked about the various options- i still liked the Sleeve option the best. met with the sergeon today- she suggested the sleeve as well- then the hiccup came- i am currently on Aetna- but starting January 1st i switch to BCBS.... since Aetna is more supportive and my BMI doesnt meet the needs for the sleeve through BC, she suggested RUSHING this process. So, i met wtih the dietician already, have surgery scheduled for 12/21 (there goes my christmas) i have support meetings scheduled every week until then, and i have to get my dr to write that i have been medically supervised while on Weight W. so, right now, all this happened in the past 4 hours TODAY. i am kinda freaking out. and i dont really know how much money this is going to cost.... im waiting to hear back from the insurance lady at the drs office to give me (and my husband) an idea of the cost out of pocket- with deductable etc. ahhhhhh help me calm down please!?!?
