Off the wagon and jumping to get back on...a touch of bandster hell!
First, wishing your husband a speedy recovery. Sometimes, it is so hard with stress and when you must put someone else first. I am glad that you were able to take a little time to get your food. It will go a long way with getting you back on track. Just remember that this is a journey. When we hit bumps in the road, we must keep on going. You are doing just that! Keep working hard toward your goals!

Thanks to my bro!
Great job on going to the gym! I know there are times that I don't feel like doing my walk. However, I push myself to go. The feeling I have after my accomplishment makes it worth it!

Almost cancelled...
I had my surgery on July 28th. Honestly, I hated the liquid phase and questioned myself a lot. However, once I was able to eat the soft food and the weight really started to come off. I am now down 37 lbs. and I am absolutely loving the journey. It is just that a journey. There have been a time or two when I ate something that didn't go down right. It was a learning experience. Not something I hope to repeat. I am still learning and tweaking things as I go along. I hit a plateau one week and when I looked at my journal I was able to see that my eating was fine. So, I changed up my exercise and the weight started to come off. Sorry for rambling...I just want you know that it is normal to feel nervous. However, the results are so worth it! Good luck with your surgery!

Last Time
I am just like you! I started this journey a "TIGHT" size 24. However, I refused to buy anymore clothes when I knew that I was having this surgery. I am at almost 3 month and have loss 37 pounds. Yeah! I know exactly how you feel about the sizes. I went for the first time yesterday to buy me some new "transition" clothes. It was so nice to buy a 22 and have it fit comfortable. I know I really was a 26/28 before (just refused to admit it). I love seeing your progress in your pictures. If I knew how to add pictures currently, I would add mine. Keep up the great effort! You are doing so great!

Hunger has returned.
Yes, it happened to me. I would even wake up in the night before my first fill with my stomach grumbling from hunger. I would try to focus on eating healthy proteins to stay full longer. Keep coming to this site for support. I know I am going back for my second fill on November 2nd and I need it. I would throw away the cookies so that they are not a temptation. Try to find the willpower to stay away from those things that you shouldn't have. It won't always be easy. I am now just about 3 months out. I have not found my sweet spot but I journal everything so that I can analyze and evaluate when I am beginning to get a little off track. Also, make sure that you have food that is good for you to eat. I even keep some weight watcher meals around for those times that I do not have time to cook. Though....they are not good if you have to watch your sodium intake. Good luck on your first fill at your next visit! Keep on working hard!

It's My Last Fat Friday!
I am not yet 3 months out. I have loss 37 lbs. I was nervous and worried that I could not do it. However, I have quit soda and almost all carb. I did not think that would have been possible. Honestly, the first 2 weeks of the liquid diet were so hard for me. I did it...but thought ..what did I do. Now, I could not say it enough that I am so glad that I did it. It was the best decision of my life!

Beginning the Journey......to Onderland!
It is wonderful that you have made the decision to have the lapband. You will find lots of support on this site. It is great to have a place to discuss your thoughts and feelings with others who have through this themselves. I know it give me a place to share without it being too much. Good luck with everything!

TurboFire
My nephew ordered the workout and went from 221 to 181. It does look intense. I don't think I am quite there yet. I am still walking with occasional splurts of jogging in between. LOL I hope you enjoy it!

It's ALL About ME!!!!
I agree with you. I think that sometimes as women we play so many roles in our lives. We are wives, mothers, sisters, daughters, friend, and coworkers. We get pulled in so many different directions and put everyone elses needs first. As we begin this journey, we need to learn how to put ourselves first and make "ourselves" a priority to experience success. This is something that is so new to many of us. I wish you much success as you begin this journey. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!

It's a false alarm - I'm just fine!

The Scale FINALLY Moved
I hate it when the scale appears to be broken and will not move. :eek:You know that you are working so hard yet it refuses to budge one ounce. I went almost an entire week. Ahhhh Finally, I decided to look at everything I was eating. There really was no problem there. So, I decided to switch up my walking. First, I measured it in my van so that I would know how far I was walking. It measured 3.8 mile (or so I thought). Only to find out that I measured in Kilometer. :rolleyes:I couldn't believe that. It sure felt close to 4 miles when I walked it. However, I found that taking the new walking route with "lots" of hills really made a difference and jump started my weigh loss again. Yesterday, I was down 1.4 pound and another pound today. Wow! I will take that! I think for some reason my body was just holding on to it and suddenly.....I was able to get it off. It just goes to show that we just have to perservere and not give up!

Hiatal Hernia
Oh, I feel for you! I am glad that you finally know why you are feeling so bad. I do get a littel upset sometimes when doctors don't listen. We do know our body best. I think of how long you have been miserable. I am hopeful that you can now get it treated so that you can feel good again. Here's to wishing you a happy and speedy recovery!

Panic Attacks
I am glad that you are feeling better. It is awful to get panic attacks. However, when you go through stressful times, they can come on quickly. I think for anyone who is prone to panic attacks, they just need to remember to take time for themselves each day to destress (alot easier said than done). Onward and upward to better health!

Progress...
Way to go! It is nice to look back at some of our pictures and see how far we have come. Maybe I will get my pictures and put together a collage. Great idea!

Changes I Can't See...
I have lost a total of 34 pounds. Yet my pant's size has not gone down but 1 size. Part of that is due to all of my cloths being way too tight before surgery. However, I had refused to buy anymore knowing that I was having the surgery. Also, I lose weight on top first. The bottom is the last to go. I just take it one day at a time. Do not get discouraged. Each small ounce loss is a victory! I know from reading on this site that many who have now loss 100 or more pounds have all had that frustration at some point or another. It is how you work through that frustration and keep going on that will help you to perservere!

This Thing Called Food
Oh, how funny. I had a dream about pickles. I was struggling to get them out of a jar with a spoon. I don't know WHAT made me dream about that! LOL I am glad that you are slowing getting better and not vomiting. I hope your recovery continues to go well for you! Soon you will be on to the soft stage!

Thankful for this Site!
I am so thankful for this site. I have found it to be more supportive than my support group meetings. Don't get me wrong the people at the meetings are wonderful. However, I feel it is more geared toward the people who have had gastic bypass. Also, it is only once a month. This site really helps me stay focused. If I do have a day that is off....I just click on this site and read other posts. It keep me encourage to not get discouraged if the scale appears stuck.....as it has been for the past 5 days. I stay focused and keep working with the band. I highly recommend it! :frown:

Post op a few days and addicted to food network!
Oh, how funny! I found myself glued to the Food Network the entire liquid phase of my diet as I was recovering. My family found it a little odd at first. However, I have found that is a way to get some great recipes and modify to meet my needs and the needs of my family. You are not alone!
