Scared?
You are such a strong person. I use to work in law enforcement myself but was behind the desk telling everyone where to go and also was the records dept. Was in a small town and only had 12 officers. I loved my job except for the last year. Got a new boss and boy my weight went right up. I use to walk in the back door every morning saying to myself "Another day of Hell". Now that is a person who hated her job. My retirement date was the happiest day of my life and enjoying every minute of it but never lost that weight so here I am working on getting banded just like you. Looking forward to that green shirt picture and when I start loosing that weight, I think I will do the same thing if you don't mind. Loved you story................Judy

Going for the orientation meeting Tuesday
Wow, you are in the early stages. I started this journey on June 25th and still going thru appointments. I am excited but don't expect to be banded until December so don't get discourage. My doctor here in upstate NY is checking my body real good. Best physical I ever had. Just be positive that someday you will start to loose weight. A person told me that and it was the best advise that anyone gave me. Good luck.

Thank Goodness
Yeah for you my friend. And yes loosing slowly is the best. I just want to loose something. Still have appointments to go to but each day is one day closer to getting my band. I read your blog and you are so inspiring for me. I need help to tell me I am full. I have stopped eating between meals but still eat what I want at meal time and have gave up soda completely. I really am enjoying the diet cranberry juice and finding myself drinking much more water. I can't wait to see the pictures. Wow, 223. I have not been that low in about 10 years. You must feel wonderful. I will be watching for the photos. Judy

Ready for plastics!
120lbs by being banded. My social worker said I would not loose anymore than 70lbs if that. I am going to show her wrong. You did it and I am going to do it. Someone on her told me to think positive and yep, I am positive and you are the first I hear that your insurance will pay for your plastic surgery which is wonderful for you. You take care now and you are going to come out beautiful. Judy

I'm a Bandster!
Good luck to ya and if you loose only 1 lb it is more than I am loosing. I am still doing my appointments and have no idea when I become a banster but working on it. I am down to just eating 3 meals a day without grazing and have lost 2 lbs since June and feel good about it so don't get down on yourself if it comes off slowly. I was told to think positive by a wonderful person on here and that is what I have been doing. I was also told that I will never get to my goal weight by the social worker at the doctors office with the band and should do the gastric bypass but I will show her and when I am at my goal weight I will go in her office and remind her what she said to me and for her to never tell anyone that again. Now, that is thinking positive. And I told 3 people and I wish I would have kept my mouth shut and not told anyone but my children. So go to work with your head held high and everyday is a new day and could be a pound down or not but you always have the next day for that pound down. Judy

Nutritionist
Wow, I thought I would be drinking a protein shake the rest of my life after being banded. That was good information. Next appointment with doctor is not until Sept 20th but I am still writing everything down and I am finding I have lost another pound. And I am eating only 3 times a day with nothing in between but I eat until I am full which I could probably eat less and I will soon, at least before I go to the doctors. Thanks for the info on the shakes. Tomorrow is Monday...............

8/20/10 Funny Pages
Fun vacation for ya. I can't wait until I can feel comfortable on the ground without getting a crane to lift me back up. Right now I avoid getting that close to the ground. Next week my physical exam and I went to my first support meeting which I received lots of information even though I was the only one doing the lapband. All the others were getting the bypass. Anyhow, one day closer. Welcome back home. Judy

A Milestone! Not Eating When I'm Stressed?!
Support groups. My first one is Tuesday and I am not even banded but decided to go to one. And by reading your blog they help. Stress from work is awful as I remember but should have never happened. I am retired now and think back how stressed I got and I was foolish for getting so stressed. Think of yourself and your health and try and stop the stress which is easy for me to say. You did great by not feeding your stress, I am proud of you.

the new me .....

Pre-Op Day 3
Feb 09 wow. I had my first appointment at the end of June and I am so excited to get this done and start getting this fat off me. This pre op day 3 and 8 more to go diet is surprising to me. To my understanding I don't have to do any of that but I am not thru with my appointments. My next one is a physical exam and then to the doctor to give me my surgery date is all is ok on September 20th which seems so far away from now. I bought some protien shakes just to see what they taste like. No powder stuff yet. These were all made up and I just shake and drink. Let me know if you like what you are drinking and what kind you got. Good luck and I know what hungry feels like. It is awful.

UGH..... need to get back on track
Yes, throw that food away. Start today. I am fat and have not been banded and you don't want to gain anymore weight. It is tooooooo hard to get off. Just like having a baby, easier going in than coming out. So, throw that junk food out. I can not wait to be banded to get this fat off me. I am starving now because my stomach is so big and wants to be fed. I want a little stomach to tell me it is full. I wish you luck but also say Start Today and get back down to where you were and you will feel beautiful. Just a thought!

Problems with my Band
OK, you have scared me. Does that mean when you get sick and vomit you can go thru the band slipping for sure? I am just starting this journey and have not been banded yet and yesterday while having the meeting with the diet lady she suggested the gastric bypass to me which I do not want that. I am confused now.

The Journey Begins
Your post was sad to me. Your husband should be your best friend and best support. Are you going to grow old with him? Ask him that. Good luck to you. I am happy that you are starting your jouney and jealous that you are starting before me.
-
Not Yet
Wow you think positive. I can't wait until I get banded and can think that way. Right now it seems so far away all I do is think of food. Sucks to be me today! Maybe my Monday will be good and so happy for you for today. YOU keep up the good work. Judy

1 Day Post Op
Thank you for that kind blog post for all of us that are just starting out. Everyone says walk, walk, walk and my problem there is no place to walk where I live. I was wondering walking in place will work. I have no choice but that unless I get in the car and go into the the city which takes gas.

Why not sooner?
I can't wait to get started and write a blog like yours. You inspire me because my weight is just about like yours. Keep up the good work. Judy
