Pre-Op Day 3

I decided to start my blog mostly because I thought it might help me feel better. Today is Day 3 of pre-op diet.. I am feeling hungry today. Haven't had a protein shake yet.. but been adding protein powder to my coffee and crystal light. NOt crazy about it... Hoping to have a shake and chicken broth for lunch... If I can last that long. I cannot even imagine not eating for 8 more days... OOO WOW.... THAT SEEMS LIKE A LONG TIME! I have been waiting a long time for this... Started this process with a friend back in Feb 2009..> Finally got insurance approval- and I am really doing this.. I get mad at myself becuase had I not missed an appt in December with my doctor my 6mos supervised diet would of been over in April and surgery would of been June instead of when school is just starting.

I am looking forward to surgery day.. I haven't gotten nervous yet, just really excited...

Feb 09 wow. I had my first appointment at the end of June and I am so excited to get this done and start getting this fat off me. This pre op day 3 and 8 more to go diet is surprising to me. To my understanding I don't have to do any of that but I am not thru with my appointments. My next one is a physical exam and then to the doctor to give me my surgery date is all is ok on September 20th which seems so far away from now. I bought some protien shakes just to see what they taste like. No powder stuff yet. These were all made up and I just shake and drink. Let me know if you like what you are drinking and what kind you got. Good luck and I know what hungry feels like. It is awful.

Hi there, I just bought some "lemonade protein powder for my pre-op diet. I tried it in the store fist. It was pretty yummy. It's called "Nector' wehy protein isolate by Syntrax. It has 23g of protein in each scoop and 90 calories. I blend it with water, ice and a splenda. It's pretty yummy

Yeah, Nectar is the best! I purchased trial packages from mybariatricpanty.com, which someone on here so graciously informed me! When I got them, I really liked the Chocolate Truffle and the Cherry one....so I bought a big container of each. I also bought some more of the individual packages, for when I go back to work. It'll just be easier than having to scoop out a scoop every morning.....I can grab a package and go! :) I am loving the Magic Bullet as well....i put in the liquid (either milk or water, depending on the flavor), ice, and blend! The chocolate one seriously tastes like a semi-decent chocolate shake! Amazingly enough.....I thought Isopure was super gross.....but I've seen other people on here rant and rave about it.....so that just proves we are each individuals! :P

Do your best to stay true to the Pre-op diet....After the first three days like yourself, I couldn't even imagine NOT eating for the next 7 days! :) ack...BUT...I stuck with it and now that I am post-op, I think that it has helped me as far as cravings are concerned. Granted, I don't have much of an appetite (was just banded on the 10th), but I think I would have had more head hunger had I not done my best with the Pre-op! Anyway, hope that helps!
