Going for the orientation meeting Tuesday

I am considering the lap band and am interested in hearing what to expect after the procedure and if anyone has any regrets. My husband and I are going to the orientation class Tuesday evening. How much time from work did you all have?

Wow, you are in the early stages. I started this journey on June 25th and still going thru appointments. I am excited but don't expect to be banded until December so don't get discourage. My doctor here in upstate NY is checking my body real good. Best physical I ever had. Just be positive that someday you will start to loose weight. A person told me that and it was the best advise that anyone gave me. Good luck.

I took five days off from work, but when I returned I only worked half a day because I was exhausted. Most people take a week to two weeks. It all depends on your body. Also, you will be taking in less calories so your days will be short because of tiredness, which is normal. Good Luck!

I was able to take 3 1/2 weeks off. I was banded 8-26 and I do not return until 9-21. This is the maximum that my insurance plan (Short Term Disability) would cover and pay me 100%. Good luck on starting your journey! I know that you are really excited!

I am having my surgery on 9/22/10 and am planning on taking 5 weeks off with full pay.
