Second day and back at work - wow! Get in enough protein . . it will help with your strength. Rest as you can. I'll bet you'll sleep tonight! Best wishes.

I don't recommend this, but initially after my surgery I was not counting calories and just getting in the recommended amounts of protein and really concentrating on that. After a few weeks, I was feeling a bit weak so started adding the calories and realized I was only getting about 450 calories - yikes .. .I was losing weight for sure, but it's not the best. When I started concentrating on my calories, I went up to 600 and eventually 800 . .. I have been losing consistently from day one. I don't know what to tell you other than to work with the dietician at your doctor's office .. .make use of all the services there that you can. Hang in there - this really is a fantastic tool and it WILL work. Best wishes.

When you first have the surgery to put in the band, the band is "loose" except for the swelling from the surgery. After the swelling goes down, the band will be loose and when you get to the point that you eat what you're supposed to eat and it does not keep you full until the next meal, then you are ready for a "fill". The doctor uses the port he put in to insert a needle and inject a liquid solution which travels up the tube to your band and as the band "fills" it gets tighter. This will cause the food to stay in your pouch longer and make you feel full longer. Hope this helps you out.

I've read on this site many times that ,"Nothing Tastes As Good As Skinny Feels " and that helps motivate me . . .my band keeps my hunger in check so I am just able to say, "no". I am a rule follower by nature, so have not strayed from the straight and narrow. I feel like you, Dixie, I've put waaaay too much into this to blow it! Good luck!

Good for you Winks . . and thanks for sharing. What a story!
  7. What a great idea! My hubby and I USED to get pizza every Friday night. I haven't had pizza since my surgery in July and just told him last week that I'm going to get brave one of these weeks and try a piece, but this is a much better alternative - thanks!!

You are so logical! I love it . . .we are a lot alike! Sounds to me like you are making good, sound decisions. Sometimes work is work and we just have to put in the extra time . . .but you're being realistic and keeping your exercise going at a reasonable pace. I had my 2nd fill last Friday giving me 4cc in a 10cc band - it has made a world of difference for me - the hunger between meals is gone - I'm lovin' it. Hope yours works well for you too!!

I think everyone varies on their weight loss. There is no "normal" weight loss. And I recommend following your doc's instructions . . .my thoughts are that we pay these guys a lot of money to do what they do, so we better have faith that they know what they're talking about!

  18. This fill did not hurt at all. The first one was .. .uncomfortable. I still would not call it painful, but I felt it. This one . . .piece of cake! Now hoping for the feeling of restriction . . .liquids today and tomorrow and soft on Sunday . . .now at 4cc in a 10 cc band. Have a great weekend everyone!:smile2:

I used no sugar added Carnation Instant Breakfast for protein shakes. I boiled a chicken in a pot with seasonings and froze it in 1 cup servings. When I warmed it up, I would add Beneprotein. I also like Syntrax Nectar - available in many flavors. Good luck
