Well, I had my first fill a little over a week ago, the first couple of days after... I was STARVING! It has gotten better slowly but I still get hungry sooner than before my fill. I read somewhere that it takes a couple of adjustments to notice a difference sometimes. The weight loss has slowed down but I am still holding at about 25lbs lost so far. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Everything is still going well. I have a lot of my energy back now. One problem, now after 6 days I have the gas pain under my shoulder in the back and high chest in the front. I should have know it was going to get me. Post-op diet is a breeze no real physical hunger only mental craving. Hope all is well for the rest of my bandsters

I got my band placed yesterday 9/10/10. So far so good. I am really sore but no extreme pain at all. I do much better walking around than laying or sitting because its really hard getting back up.I will update later.

Thank you so much for that message. I am going to have my surgery in the morning. I hope I will be able to relax and get some sleep tonight but I will think back on your positive post and remember God didn't bring me this far to leave me now.

I decided in Jan of this year that I wanted to have Lap-band surgery. I talked to my doctor in Feb and went to a seminar. I started with my surgeons office in March (he has an all inclusive type practice) I spent the next 5 months seeing the nutritionist and doing my one on one psych evals (6months were required) had the sleep study, egd and cardio work up, finished by the end of july. Chart was submitted around August 3 and I received approval in a few days. My surgery is scheduled for Sept 10. So I guess compared to some it moved quickly. I am so relieved that all the appointments are done now I just have to start to wrap my head around the fact that its really gonna happen! I have been so overweight and limited for so long I can't wait to start my new life!!!!!

I finally got my approval. My date is Sept 10. I start my pre-op diet on August 25 or so. I am relieved, excited and scared to death. This site has been so much help to me during my journey even if no body ever talks back:smile2:

I have finally finished my insurance and physician requirements. Now I await approval and a date. Does it usually take long for them to get back to you with an answer?

This is my first attempt at blogging. I am a a little over half way through my insurance mandated 6 month work-up. All is looking good for a early August placement date. I am sooo looking forward to starting my new life. I wish I could have done this years ago. I have been reading other stories and I am so encouraged by everyone!!
