  1. Ya it is a big gym, my personal trainer knows I had the surgery because I had to stop seeing him while I heal. 10k is a lot of money and it will bring me out of my credit card debt (those school loans are still a killer though). Sign up is next weekend and I think I am just going to go sign up and hopefully no one asks me any questions! 10k is a huge motivation! haha There was one season when one of the guys had gastric bypass, lost weight and then gained it all back. So if they did, they would have prolly told us about it. The new winner, mike, he lives around me and my friend is his personal trainer at the gym he works out at. He has lost over 200 pounds all by himself. During this season they did bring season ones winner on the show, and he did gain a lot of the weight back!
  2. My gym is having a get fit contest and i am thinking about joining. Its 12 weeks. I just got banded and its not like the weight is flying off. First place is 10k.... I have so many school debt that its hard for me to tell myself not to try and join and win that money. Is it really the unfair ?!?!?
  3. I was told to start walking for 30 min a day as soon as I can, but it also said that if I am not up to doing that start off with 5 and move my way up. I couldnt even stand straight for a good 5 days so walking for more then to the bathroom and back was all I was doing too. Walking made my gas pains worse and it was the last thing on my mind. On monday I will be two weeks post op and I think I am going to try and start working out again, slowly but surely. The weight has stopped coming off and I dont like it!!! I also was not able to get my protein in. I still cant get all my protein in, I get full very quickly and theres no way I can meet my protein or water requirements right now. Someone mentioned protein shots and I am looking into them...how expensive! But for now, without being on normal foods it seems to be my best option. Good Luck! Feel better :-)
  4. Congrats on being banded! The first 4-5 days were really rough for me. By day 7 I was feeling myself again, although a little tired, but I was ready to start moving again!
  5. You should really follow what your surgeon tells you to do. It prolly isnt the worse thing you could have done. But mash potatoes are fattening!!
  6. Well if was 4 pounds in a week and nothing this week. It has just stopped. Its frustrating because I am eating right!!!
  7. I feel so dirty too! I will try that tomorrow, thanks for the suggestion!
  8. Wow i am so jealous. I was banded the same day, and only down 4 pounds. ugh
  9. I just started a full time job monday so I dont have much time to sit around on the comp anymore! haha Im doing alright, feeling a lot better. I wish i could get this dirty sticky stuff off my stomach though, its gross! I have only lost 4 pounds since surgery and its really frustrating, I am doing everything right :-/
  10. I am having the same problem! I have lost 38 pounds since I started this but since i had surgery on the 17th... 4 pounds.. what 4 pounds! Ugh!!!! I am doing everything right. Maybe I should try more calories, but I get hungry fast and I eat till im hungry, how do I add more calories?
  11. I got the depo shot about 3 years ago. One side effect is gaining weight, I was on a diet at the time and I lost! Since surgery I have only lost 4 pounds... its very upsetting to me, but I know that this is to be expected but blah!
  12. My gym is hosting a 12-week fit challenge. I dont have all the details to it yet, but it seems like who loses the much weight, maybe goes by loss of body fat %. It starts june 7. First place gets $10,000! Second, 3,000 and third 2,000. I want to join, but i feel shy and embarrassed. Plus I just got banded and have heard all about bandster hell. Any words of encouragement?
  13. its thick. kind of like sour cream. its good with some honey on it!
  14. The rest of my small ones were covered. I emailed them and this one was suppose to be covered too. She blamed it on maybe it moving when they were covering me. Doubtful. I think the nurse just put it in the wrong spot. But it looked fine, I just wanted to know why i had no butterfly on just one incision but a butterfly on NOTHING.
  15. SO a week ago I got banded and when I got out I had 4 small incisions that were covered and one large one, then I had a small cut looking thing not covered. I didn't know why but I thought hey they know what they are doing. So today the butterfly bandaid about an inch away from the uncovered cut starts really bothering me and its almost coming off anyways so I took it off. Come to find out THERE IS NOTHING UNDER IT. This really bothers me, Idk who covers the incisions, if its my surgeon, that really bothers me, if its the 12 year old looking nurse, I will be upset but at least I know it wasnt my dr. Im thinking about sending an email to one of the girls in my surgeons office and addressing the concern. Am i making too big of a deal out of this?
  16. I started work today , I havent worked a full time job in a long time! I am sooo tired. I will def need the calories to keep me going, but even with what im eating it doesnt seem to be enough. Just whatever you eat try to make sure its filled with protein! Im hoping to start my work outs next week.. idk if im ready lol
  17. I try to stay away from the carbs. I do eat good carbs in moderation but I cut them out after 6pm. Im sorry your going threw bandster hell. Just try to make good food choices!
  18. Im a week post op and started mushies and today was the first day I got hungry. But for the last 3 weeks I have not been and I had to force myself to eat. You need to drink a Protein shake at least! Your body is holding on to all you have and you wont lose weight that way, not to mention not eating is bad for you. You are prolly still swollen, I am not in bandster hell. I cant eat much before I get full, Im just hoping the scale shows the pounds dropping!
  19. I cheated by having one cookie the first week of my two week pre-op.
  20. I weigh myself because I am addicted to the scale. I get on it at least 5 times a day. I can not wait a week to weigh myself.
  21. I weigh two pounds more by 6pm everyday. It goes away in the morning.
  22. Congrats!!! Good luck on everything, you can do it!
  23. I was banded a week ago and I have lots of restriction still. Its prolly from swelling but as long as im losing weight, ill ride it out :-)
  24. My band is open too. I kinda am hoping maybe this will stay like this forever and I wont need fills! haha i know keep dreaming.
